Title: Horizontal Lines on Famicom Cartridge *pics* Tech Help
Post by: Pixie_0 on December 26, 2010, 07:26:03 am
Hey Folks

I managed to get my hands on what would be an awesome 245-in-1 no repeats famicom cart.

When i put it in, i can see the menu and make out the games and even play the games but there are terrible horizontal lines across the screen :(

This is the only cart that does it, my other pirate carts work fine and clear with no issues. I've opened the cart and cleaned it with a Qtip and isopropyl alcohol but it hasnt seemed to help.

Can anyone with any knowhow please check out my pics and let me know fi there is an obvious fault that my amateur eyes can't see? and maybe how to fix it?

Its like dying of thirst in the desert holding a big bottle of water that you can't open and can only look at :(

Thanks

Yes I have several FC carts that won't run on an original famicom, just on my keyboard famiclone. Some have vertical lines, other won't run at all.

Gutted :( I actually have an AV famiclone
My RF Famicom broke so decided to get the AV famiclone instead. The cartridge is a recent one so perhaps that is the problem.

Such a pity!

Guess i will need to find somewhere around these parts (uk) that sells the older multicarts,

Try testing it on good, real HW instead. The clone HW may not be able to deal with the exotic mapper, which I find to be the case more often than the opposite. All clone systems suck in some regard, but the newer NOAC units are just plain horrible!

Try a legit FC and see if it works. What's contained on the cart you're trying to run?

Hi board ,

I have 4 different Famiclones and all of them work fine with this 245 cart , what Famiclone are you using?

It's either a defective cart or a NOAC issue.

I bet its a crappy NOAC issue, or the globtop has gone bad. It's not like these things have quality assurance.

S_m, more then likely as Noac consoles are notoriously bad at emulating.

Hi i have 5 working famiclones ;) and yep some of them have different mappers and yes some of the carts work on some and others don't but there is one of the famiclones that plays all games... original and non original.... also about the vertical lines try tilting the cartrige when it is in the slot ;)
