I recently found a few of these N64 style controller clones. The first one I found was white and had a built in light gun. It had the connection for playing FC cartridges. Then I think I found one without the lightgun, but still had a slot for plugging in cartridges. The one I'm curious about is different than the others I mentioned and I haven't been able to find any info on the web about it. So this Super Joy 3 is red colored. Underneath it where the cartridges normally go is a cover that isn't meant to be opened. So of course I removed it and found it still has the famicom connector pins. And it has an actual famicom game chip inserted in it - the chip is the "76,000" games. So I opened my rare gyromite game with the built in famicom to NES adapter, and installed the super joy 3 chip. It works as a game on my original Nintendo. So I'm curious about any kind of info people have on this version of the super joy 3. So far I can only find info about the ones that are meant to have famicom carts inserted. Anyone know if the super joy 3 LX has a verion with this kind of chip installed? Any and all replies are appreciated!
Yeah, these are the new kind, and they are starting to mass produce them. I saw a penguin famiclone in the mall the other day. :)
Wait, there's a new model released?
Yeah. The new Joys don't have battery cases, and you can insert carts without filing down nubs.
How long ago were they released? I bet my mall won't carry them. :/
I got mine last christmas, but they're selling them this year too.
