I bet they're all two-packs of Family Stadium games :P
I bet they're mostly crappy or common games you can get for under 100 Yen at many stores in the vicinity.
[sarcasm]I'd move to Japan just for that![/sarcasm]

Well it really is awesome how Japan has more of this culture that just doesn't exist in the US.
At the same time, I have this dreadful feeling that retro game stores are becoming fewer and fewer..

Play N Trade seems to respect 'retro' gaming here in the US. I boycotted Gamestop since they neglect the good games (and for other reasons).
This is such a Japanese thing to do.
Sadly no Play'N'Trade in my town closest we have is Disc Replay or Game X Change...
Looking at the photo the games I can make out are Mach Rider, Family Stadium, Golf, Takeda Shingen, Captain Tsubasa.......pretty much all cheap games that you can find for 100 - 300 yen each if you look around.
If they would mix some more expensive games in there it might be worth a go. Of course, they might have done that and somebody who is really good with those claw machines already cleaned them out!
Whatever the case, I do agree that it is pretty cool that stuff like this exists in Japan. Might not be a good deal, but its kind of a cool thing to look at. :D

I'd be really sad if all the little retro game shops went away.
That said, I don't think they will. In Japan, anyway. Some of the really tiny shops might go under, but the bigger shops that have a bit more diverse merchandise (ie the ones that sell toys, comics, etc in addition to video games) seem to be doing well.
Of course, the prices of retro games in general seem to be going down, which might affect the shelf space that such shops are willing to devote to retro games. Which in the long run would suck. So for that reason I will occasionally splurge and buy a Famicom game for the full retail price at one of the shops that I like even though I could get it cheaper elsewhere.
Gotta support the shops!
Respect and preserving the best of gaming for sale no matter what generation we are currently in is the most important thing there is as far as gaming is concerned. You don't see many 'neo-classic' games for a reason.
For the record, many Play'n'Trade locations are independently owned ('Play'N'Trade' is a francise license), so each store owner decides what to stock. One location of four near me is owned by a guy that knows game values, and I had a good laugh with hi on the list price of 'Stadium Events' in their 'suggested prices' list.
I love all the vending and attraction machines in JP culture. That's the kind of stuff that started to be popular here in the 70s/80s and was slaughtered by people with no imagination, although we didn't have machines selling hot sandwiches and underwear. Further, I can see a few decent and possibly a couple strongly uncommon games in that machine, so its not a total rip-off. The real question is: How is the claw tension set?
I operated crane and coin-op machines once upon a time, and I set the tension pretty strong as the cost of the stuff int he machine was low enough to mitigate people actually winning it, but the trend now is 'no tension', so everything is essentially impossible to pick up, taking all of the skill out of the game. I wonder how easy it is to pull a game out with a 100Yen coin. :)
