Hello, I have another problem with my Famicom. I live in europe that's why I only have PAL TV. My Famicom works fine, but the controller is broken (another topic). I tried these two AV modifications, but none of them worked for me.

So I read that one guy wrote that I can simply hook up wires where it says A V on the board (he said that just some models has these letters marked on the board), so did I.

When I simply connect this to my PAL TV i get black & white image, but pretty clear picture. And sound is really good as well. So because of the image I bought NTSC to PAL converter from eBay (I think it cost around 20 bucks).

The main problem is that I get color picture, but it is low saturated and flickering. (Fast, black vertical lines running across the screen from top to down). I don't know how to explain this problem better in english. So maybe there is a solution to this, because I got lucky to get this Famicom cheap from eBay and I don't think I would have that opportunity once more. So this is very important to me and I don't know how to fix this.

p.s. just in case - I'm using adapter from "Dendy" Russian Famiclone. Its specs: Input: 220/230V, 50-60Hz. Out: DC 9V (when I measured with multimeter there was 10V), 850mA, center tip negative

I haven't seen that motherboard revision before, if that really outputs amplified composite video suitable for TV display without a video amplifier directly from the motherboard then you might need to disconnect the video line going into the RF modulator to prevent it from terminating/overloading the video signal (which attenuates it a great deal) and route it exclusively to your RCA plug. Otherwise you'll have to try taking the video directly from the PPU and building the usual video amplifier circuit.
ok, how can i disconnect that line from RF modulator? How does the RF modulator look like?
That's a standard VCCI Famicom, Rev 02-I. It shouldn't have pre-AMP'd video coming out of it. I'm guessing that it just has a bad modification... I don't see any leads to VCC at all, so there is clearly no AMP circuit added into it.
In fact, I'd hazard a guess that there is a video AMP in the converter, as it has its own power-supply, and that may be the source of the issue. The Famicom is not properly converted to A/V at all, at all: It doesn't have any AMP, and the PAL-adapter box is compensating from a very weak input signal that it wasn't designed to handle. That would explain the colour de-saturated and flickering image.
@brutalex1935: Did you wire this yourself, or did it come to you this way? :bomb:
P.S. Under the above conditions, removing the RF/Power sub-board isn't required.
I made this by myself, I tried two other modifications with transistor, two resistors and a capacitor, but that didn't gave me any signal at all. I am 100% certain that I did build it correctly. So you are saying that I simply need to build a video amplifier and add it in my famicom circuit. Do you have any schematic for that?
Actually, I sell kits for that: The RetroVideoAV (http://www.atariusa.com/RetroVideo). It's funny that this post comes up within hours of finishing the latest install guide (for the non-VCCI Famicom; VCCI version forthcoming).
If you are determined to make it yourself, search the forum for AV Mod, and you'll find at least three topics, with different suggestions on how to do it. I went a slightly different route with my kits, but the designs here are perfectly functional if you want to make it by hand.
If you're interested in a RetroVideo, let me know. I will have to figure out costs to your region, and I'm still finishing the VCCI-version manual, as the kit-placement inside is more difficult.
