Will the famicom disk system work on a famiclone?
Because i have a famiclone that i think it comes from japan (here is a picture link (http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/7928/dsc06165n.jpg)
So I hope anyone can test the famicom disk system on a famiclone :)
None of my clones work correctly with the FDS--they all freeze once the game is playing for about 30 seconds or so. Like MasterDisk said, maybe some will work. Let us know what you find out.
Maybe they just copied the label on a real famicom. Does it look like a famicom on the top side as well?
And why is the picture upsidedown?
I've run an FDS on clone systems, although the sound is rarely correct... I've even done do on one of those hand-held clones that looks like a GBA, which works until you jar it rapidly during play and everything glitches; that's a fault of the design requiring you to use an extension-adapter to plug in any cartridge.
It probably would work on your clone system, though I'm more curious as to what it looks like on the inside, as that information will yield better results towards accurately answering your question.
Additionally, is that its box/packaging underneath? If so, I'd like to see photos of the box and all of its contents for posterity... Thanks! :bomb:
You meen like this one i sold? ( i have another one like it )

No, this one looks like a Gameboy Advance, not a Gameboy Colour, but the concept is essentially the same. The cartridge adapter dongle is similar: Cartridges plug down into it, and are not parallel to the system. Overall, it is clumsy and prone to crashing due to motion rocking either the game cart, or the adapter, causing the system to freeze or glitch.
Additionally, it has neither video out, nor a controller port, so it's very much a downgrade to that system you photographed.
The FDS does work on it though, for whatever little that may be worth. :bomb:
Without the dongle, what games does that clone play? Is that cartridge connector the same as that of a Game Boy Color's?
Um dunno i have never owned a Game Boy color
The neo fami clone I recently bought support perfectly My famicom Disk system.
Great :) when i have a disk system i will make some tests on all of my clones :) and let you know the results.
Keep in mind PAL-NTSC difference.
