Title: Famicom AC blew up, can I used my Famicom AV or Super Famicom AC instead?
Post by: the_importer on May 02, 2011, 10:20:04 am
I was setting up my retro systems after getting a new 27" CRT and I plugged my Famicom AC adapter in my Famicom AV and the AC blew up. Don't now if it was a coincidence or if I wasn't suppose to do this but now I need to use my Famicom until I get a replacement. So can I use my Famicom AV or SFC AC adapter or should I just wait and buy a new one?

Thanks

Famicom, AV Famicom and Super Famicom all use the same exact power adapters.

Guess it was just meant to blow up then, 1983 I guess  :D

Anyway, thanks for the info, won't be too hard to find a spare.

This is probably more likely the penalty for not using a voltage step-down transformer over time, or not using the correct type. They are repairable, for reference, so 'tisn't a total loss.  :bomb:
