Title: WTB: Famicom Disk Games
Post by: tpm1999 on October 08, 2011, 01:26:08 am
Does anyone know of a website that sells Famicom Disk System Games?  I just got a twin famicom and I am looking to pickup some more games.  Ebay seems to be a hit or miss way to find specific games...specifically I am looking for a reasonably priced Doki Doki Panic.

I am loving the twin famicom so far (my first famicom and fds).  I am enjoying Mario 2 (way hard) and Zelda (loving the fm music).

...the greatest disappoint is probably the controller cord length.  Did Japanese kids in the 80s sit 2 feet away from the TV? lol

There's a seller Hit-Japan on eBay who sells a lot of FDS games complete, some sealed, but these are mostly commons.

Doki Doki is one of the more expensive games, especially complete... the cheapest way would probably to get it from a Japanese seller?

Hit-Japan is a reliable seller.

yes you have to sit on the floor if you want to play japanese games.  :D

I love mario 2. It's not actually unreasonably hard because you get to continue from the first level on the stage you died on.

I have been getting all of my Japanese systems/games on eBay so far...just wondered if there was a non eBay online store.

There aren't any cheap doki doki panics on eBay right now... I guess I just have to be patient.

2 more famicom surprises....the side controller cord is not nearly as annoying as I thought it would be.  It fits perfectly between my fingers.

Also...is anyone else's disk drive really loud (while loading) .  It kind of freaks out my cats.  :)

Doki Doki Panic is not even hard to find....but if you rely on ebay you will end up paying an arm and a leg for it due to the demand. Theres a ton of shops online, Japan game Stock comes to mind, doing a google search for "Famicom for sale" will turn up  a bunch of shops. Has the belt been replaced in your FDS? if not that may be why its so loud.

Thanks for the store suggestion.  Japan Game Stock looks like they have a ton of games...their doki doki panic seems expensive though...I will keep searching.  I bought the twin famicom off of ebay for a decent price and they previous owner said they changed the belt in July.  I dont doubt them...but I am uncertain if they aligned/calibrated the drive and belt afterwords.  Personally I dont care if it is a little loud...it plays zelda, zelda 2, and smb2 great!

I should have bought a twin famicom years ago.
