Does anyone else think that society is full of morons who listen to garbage music, watch the most mind-numbingly stupid movies and shows, and have a sort of ignorance about them that makes you want to punch them in the kidneys? Because I do.
Wow, you're way too young to be thinking like that.
Problem is, everyone feels this way. You think everyone else is a moron, listens to crappy music, and watches stupid movies -- and unless they share your particular preferences, they think the same thing about you. ;)

Yes petik, to feel like that is to be a (healthy) teenager. But soon enough you won't have to deal with those people ever again.
But its not a matter of "you like something I don't like", I just feel like people are ignorant to what could be good things, and since most people accept crap, the media puts out crap. It's like they swallow whatever they're given. If any of you watch South Park, watch the "Ass Burgers" episode. It's exactly how I feel.
As fredJ said, it's part of being an angsty teenager. We were all there at one point, eventually you'll stop caring about other people(at least I did).

Yes, but there's more to people than the media and entertainment that they consume. If you like good music, that's great, but remember that not everyone cares about music. It's likely that they do care about something else, and that is likely a more interesting thing to discover about them than their (lack of) taste in music.
Hell, I don't care that much for music. That was just an example. I just seems that people lack originality and independent thought. Mindless drones...
i just feel that anyone will believe anything you tell them, dont much for i know there dumber than me in the first place >:D
I'm trying to decipher the latter half of that sentence, linkzpikachu.
I thought like this at one point, then I realized I'm not going to care later, so I might as well not now. You just have to be yourself and let others do as they please. If you don't like them, ignore them. I can't say they'll go away, but getting angry doesn't solve a thing.
^Yes that
At some point you'll realize that caring about what other people are into, or how little they know about "important" things and you'll live your life and let them live theirs. Hell some of my closest friends like the shittiest music and know nothing about the world, I don't let that bother me though because they're still interesting and good people.

My general point is to try not to focus on the negative aspects of people so much. I've been there ("angsty teen" stuff), and it really wears you down after a while. Everyone has negative aspects -- even yourself -- and your mindful non-droning is probably much more mindless than you think. Took me quite a few years to figure that out, and was quite depressing once I really understood it, but it helps me to now focus on what is positive.

And one important step to being smart is to realize how dumb you really are. :(
Yes, this.
One of my favorite illustrations is to picture a vast room, wherein all of the air in the room represents knowledge. Within the room is a balloon, representing your mind. The air inside of the balloon represents the things that you know. As you learn more, the balloon expands. As the balloon's surface gets more stretched out, it is coming in contact with more of the knowledge that is outside of it. So as you learn more and more, you become more and more aware of the total amount of knowledge that exists outside of your own knowledge. The more that you learn, the more you become aware of the vastness of your ignorance. It's pretty humbling.
Focusing on the negative aspects of anything could bring attention to the problem and may bring the possibility of change. I don't pay attention to news, poop culture or anything that makes me feel more depressed about life. Although you should know what's going on in the world and your local area... Just live your life and make the most of it. :)

I've come to this conclusion. I realize that it's impossible for me to know everything there is to know, which I think is pretty sad. I might have said this before, but it bothers me when people don't try to make the best of themselves, and think they know everything they need to. I like to say that "they don't know what they don't know."
i realized i was dumd lonnnnnnng ago
I had an epiphany the other day. I was thinking of Sony and MS fanboys, and how they "hate" the other console. I thought that was stupid. I said that it would be like... Then I got it. It would be like saying you don't like someone because they do something that you don't like, or don't do something you like. Rather, you would say to yourself "I don't like what you do, but I hope your happy with it."
On a side note, I've had weird things happen to me when I sleep. In lieu of dreaming, its like I'm conscious and thinking, but thinking unbelievably fast. It's like I'm solving problems in my head, and its almost... euforic.
Find your own bearings, whatever it is, represent yourself and what you love, dont disagree with other people unless its necessary, maybe try to show them what you enjoy in life. when they come at you, stand your ground. People are people man, you have class acts and then total shit. All that matters is who you are, and never let anyone walk on your beliefs, but try not to walk on theirs either.
You will always find things to hate, despise, disagree with. But for all of that you should hopefully find something, even one experience, that will change your mind or at least make you think in a positive manner.
This isnt a pretty, perfect world for any of us, good and bad come hand in hand, sometimes one more so than the other. But what you are completely capable of doing is making this YOUR world.
To each his own. Cheers friend! ;D
