I have a really nice multi and its not a glob top, i was wondering if anybody would like to help me fix it for a small sum of money...
What happened that caused the change in its condition? :bomb:
Nothing at all really. It just stopped working. Or maybe its just being annoying. Ill check it and clean it a few more times.
Obviously, there isn't much to damage, and if it was just sitting for a while, it's unlikely going to be reparable if it is damaged (w/o salvaging parts from another similar game), as the cause is likely static discharge. As you say, the connector may be oxidized, so give it a cleaning and report back.
You may also wish to verify that you are using it on the same system as before. Some multicarts won't work on some hardware.
I can test it for you if you want to send it down. :bomb:
Yeah no worries i know the basics. Ill post here once i get back home to try it.
As much as I doubt it, maybe it's a cold solder joint. Look for dull gray connections, although I'm certain as you said it just needs to be clean. If you get desperate, you can use extremely fine sand paper to remove dirt and rust from the contacts. Be careful with it, as it is not a very safe technique.
I find that using an eraser works great.
I hope this is not the multicart that we have previously discussed. :bomb:
Boom fixed it, may have been a cold solder joint, but a found a piece of something conductive lodged between the pins of one chip, also cleaned. 3 birds with one stone. woot. Thread closed.
