What are some great rpgs that only came out in japan (excludeing final fantasy 2 & 3) :help:
'Esper Dream', for one. it's a Konami title, and pretty amazing. The 'Ys' games are also good, but this is highly subjective. if you like dungeon crawls, there are 'Wizardry' games that are FC-only, and 'Bards Tale II'. I'll try to think of more, but I'm bloody tired --about to retire for the night/morning--, so my mind is in low gear at present. :bomb:
I'll be weird about this one:
Nadia :P It's like a chess / RPG hybrid
Okay, not the "best" I guess. :-\
I'd recommend Sweet Home, but I haven't started it yet. :-\
Does Mother count?
Some others:
Fire Emblem (2 games)
Ganbare Goemon Gaiden
Madara
Digital Devil Monogatari: Megami Tensei II
I think Silva Saga and Chronicles of the Radia War are both awesome
You'll find that Sweet Home, Mother and Digital Devil Monogatari: Megami Tensei II are the only RPGs on the system worth your time.
STED: Iskei Wabusei no Yabou is a rather unique sci-fi RPG. I've been playing it recently, myself... a bit grindy, but it has a lot going for it. There are some interesting features, like first-person dungeons, fantastic music, superb graphics, and stat allocations for level ups. Highly recommended.
I've heard nothing but good things about Lagrange Point, and it's a game I definitely plan on checking out as soon as I can.
