Well, either my a/v cable went to burn, or my famicom did. What are the signs of the famicom burning out? I still gut some slight response from turning the thing on, the fuzz on the TV screen moves a little.
Check the AV cable on another system or dvd player or something else if the cable works then your FC is not working :(
How about if I use a different a/v cable? Because that didn't work either.
It's possible that, if you are using a modified Famicom with A/V out, that the modification was done poorly and is now faulty.
Otherwise, it could be a power issue--what AC Adapter are you using?--or something could have failed on your mainboard.
I would not expect it to be a cable issue. :bomb:

I have had several dead switchboxes. You can buy a simple female RCA to male Type-F (Fairchild) converter for under US$2 and use a stock RCA cable to bypass the switchbox necessity and thus test the system.
Did you check that the Ch-1/Ch-2 switch and Game/TV switches are set correctly?
Did you by any chance use the wrong type of AC-Adapter with the system? :bomb:
does it stink? open the cart slot and take a nice whiff.....if it smells like burning electronics, then the thing is fried.
That's not the most revealing sign, especially if the system is already smoky. ;D
I would guess that this was a case of using the wrong PSU either once,or over a prolonged period of time, however it could stem from other problems. One pin on the game slot could simply be dirty (or bent), which could produce a white screen.
Is the display solid grey/white, or does it merely flash for a brief second when powering up? :bomb:
Well, whatever it was, it is now fixed. I have another problem though: Error 21. Although that is for a different thread.
Out of sheer curiosity, what exactly did you do? Did you repair it, have someone else repair it, or did it spontaneously start working again?

well, instead of using the male rf port directly into the back of my tv, I used an extension cable that used the female port instead. Not intentionally though, I forgot I even had that thing back there. Sorry if I don't use the right terminology, I'm not very knowledgeable about this stuff (hence rf a/v confusion).
