Title: Any difference between FDS and Twin Fami drive?
Post by: fakeXsound on January 06, 2012, 07:42:04 pm
Hi guys,

Earlier in the year I bought a AN-500R. It was going for a good price since the disk drive's belt was broken. I'm wondering if the twins use the same drive as the normal FDS. In other words, if someone knows how to replace the belt on an normal FDS, would they be able to do so on a twin (specifically the 500 I suppose)? If not, could you point me in the right direction for where to get it repaired?

Thanks!

There is no difference between the drive mechanism used on the Sharp Twin systems and the normal FDS. If you are looking to schedule it for service, you may wish to view my thread on FDS & Twin restoration (http://www.famicomworld.com/forum/index.php?topic=5828.0).  :bomb:
