Title: Tri-star converter missing ic

Hi All,

My brother got a pal tri-star today but when its in the console the console wont power up but the consoles works when a game is plugged in, opened up the tri-star case and theres an ic missing, anyone own one that could help out id the chip please? the chip is a socket 16 pin ic on the right hand side.

Posting a picture of the board showing the location of the missing part would greatly help your cause. ;)

found a pic of another forum and they say its a cic, all the other chips have had there markings removed :(

The only IC the tristar has is the socketed custom BIOS chip. If you're missing that, then you're completely screwed. Enjoy your doorstop - you will not be able to replace it because of its custom nature.
