Title: fds initially boots up game then doesnt load anything else
Post by: zorro on March 17, 2012, 03:24:12 pm
so i just got an av famicom, disk system, and disk system ac adapter with onigashima 1 and 2. and I have noticed a strange problem with the disk system. Both games boot up flawlessly, but only until whatever they initially load and then the dont even try to load.

onigashima 1 goes past the title screen and you select an option and it doesn't go anywhere past that (the music stays streaming, but it's probably in memory)

on onigashima 2 it loads until the second screen which is just a black screen with text on it.

Does anyone know what kind of problem it could be? I looked around but haven't found any answers. It seems strange that it will initially load and then not continue

Flip the disk when you are at one of these part. The data on fds is often hold on both side of the disk.

I've tried that as well and then it tells me to turn to side A.

I don't think it's save data. I'm sure it must be something simple though

edit: actually I tried it again. you are right. onigashima 1 did have that problem. But onigashima 2 I can't figure out the problem

Thank you

you can't use onigashima 2 without onigashima 1.

:o I did not know that. Is part 2 a continuation of part 1?

Thank you for letting me know. Now I need to get more import friendly games

Yes, part 2 is a direct continuation of part 1. So as already correctly said, you can't play 2 without 1.
