Title: WTB Doropie
Post by: Alana on April 11, 2012, 11:07:58 am
Just wondering if anyone has seen a copy of Doropie for the Famicom for sale.  I don't seem to be having much luck tracking it down.

Thanks!
Alana

Cart only it should be about $60-80. This was released in the US as "The Krion Conquest" and is only like $8 bucks, in case you werent aware of that release.

Ya I knew it was re-released here as Krion Conquest.  I read that it takes out the cutscenes and the ending animations too.  So I figured I would look for the Famicom version.

Yes, that it does. North American version is just straight gaming action with no story really to be told until the game is beaten.

I wonder why they decided to cut all of that out, maybe because Doropie looked too much like a witch and they would have to get rid of the pentagram symbol I guess...

its not that difficult to find really, theres usually a few copies popping up on YJA semi-frequently. Ebay you'll have a hard time trying to find it and it will most likely end at an outrageous price.

Good luck if you find one. By some reasons some carts really rare, even title kinda nothing special. Marketing? Or market needs?

I think Doropie is one of the carts that are known to be rare in Japan, and the game is known to be quite good.
That's why people hold on to their carts, I suppose.
There are other rare and good titles, but they aren't well known in that way.

I actually hate this game. Its a lame Rockman ripoff that just bores the hell out of me.  I find the switching between items/weapons monotonous. Id rather play 6 different Rockman games over this anyday. The absurd price this cart fetches doesnt help anything either. Its not rare,  just a bit uncommon and highly desirable.

Just browse YJA. Youll come across a copy in no time..

If you're okay with cart only, Japangamestock.com currently has a copy (http://www.japangamestock.com/buy_video_games.php?products_id=12328) for relatively cheap.

That is indeed very cheap compared to other available ones.
