Title: My Pc-Engine Duo died.
Post by: Profeta Yoshitake on April 13, 2012, 11:07:14 am
Hi there!

The other day I was playing Gunhed Special Edition in my Duo,
and for some reason, the game does not seems to restart
automatically after each "game over" so I was manually turning
the console off and on again.

Everything was fine, my friends and I were having a great time
competing at the score attacks the hucard offers when suddenly
the Duo stopped working. It was not an energy shortage, the AC
adapter was still OK (I tested it) but the console never turned on
again.

I looked for hardware diagrams or anything that could guide me
but found none on the internet.

Do anyone would help me with this?

pc engine duos have problem with components, leaking caps, in particular the black one. It will cause it to stop working.

The PCE Duo has an easily replaceable glass fuse, try checking that.

The Duo-R and RX don't really have those problems, it's just the original Duo that has cap issues.
