my brother plugged in a NES power adapter into the famicom. it wont turn on
if it didn't make a bang, you probably just blew the fuse.
HVC-CPU-GPM-02!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The 07 does not have a fuse. Most likely the 7805 will blow up in them.
GPM-01 and 02 have a fuse and it's easy to replace.
;)
ok i took some pis of the famicom for comfirmation
it's rusty i know. how do i replace the fuse?
found it.

the chip or the sticking up piece
Replace or bypass the whole thing with a short wire. You can also solder in a different fuse holder since a stock replacement may be difficult to find.
show me what to bypass

It's the small, rectangular box on the left side of the pic near the edge that shows 1.5A on it:

can you circle the 2 points
It's not my image (hotlinked), but you'd want to connect the points (metal legs) on either side of the black rectangle.
tried jumping it. no luck
Try replacing the 7805 voltage regulator.
i do not know how to do that. best bet is to buy a new one
It's a 15 cent part. Just desolder it and solder in a new one. You can buy them online or at Radio Shack. It's not worth buying a new famicom over.
It looks like this:

i cant solder for the life of me
Do you have any friends, or maybe a parent, who can? It's not too tough to learn. Have a look at some youtube videos.

If you'd like I can replace it for you. I've got a few replacement 7805s and it's an easy job so the actual repair would only about $5.
