Title: Help making rca to female scart cable adaptor
Post by: famiac on May 07, 2012, 07:59:38 pm
Anybody have any advice? What measures should be taken to assure the best quality possible? I need to make a scart socket to separate r g and b male rca cables with h/c-sync and v-sync in case i want to hook up a device with separate syncs and finally left and right sound channels. Thanks!

No. I want to make a scart to bnc cable for my pvm 2950 but i already have bnc to rca female connectors installed so i can use rca male cables. The tv needs r, g, b, csync/h-sync and v-sync to work. I need information like what measures to take on shielding and how to ensure proper grounding and etc.

I dont think scart supports separate sync channels. What pin should i use for composite sync?

*then

No need to be condescending. I know how to use a search engine. I was just looking for advice. I already know the pinout of a scart socket. I was just wondering if composite video can be used as a csync source.

Actually, correct me if I am wrong but,  what I think that 80sFreak means is to walk away from your project for a minute, don't get ahead of yourself and think it through a little bit more, do a little more research and then make your move.  Thinking, Ideas, and drawing up plans are free, prototyping is not.   On a side note when I was doing a lot of studio work, sometimes I would have to walk away so I could clear my mind before I "GOT IT" and then I went back into the studio and BAM! I did what I had to do.

Sorry. i couldn't tell whether he was being sarcastic or not. Such misunderstandings happen. It's hard to convey sarcasm through text and it seemed like that post was a little bit offensive.

I dunno. Sounded sarcastic to me. Then again, so does most of the stuff 80sFREAK says, so maybe it's just how I read it.

Exactly. I don't think of 80sFreak as a person that gives sincere advice. But it doesnt matter.

The above is funny to me because in my first post I was "warned" about 80sFREAK.   I know that text is hard to detect sarcasm in and sometimes it comes off shitty when it's not suppose to be shitty as well.  I just hope everyone is cool.  Can't we all just get along!?!?  ;D

First i said it seemed offensive. That doesn't give you a reason to call me a lazy cunt. And added to that, none of what you posted answers my questions... I post on forums to get help, not to get called a lazy offensive cunt. Good luck in life with an attitude like that. i dont want a sync seperator, or an amp, or a damned composite to rgb circuit.

Not offended at all. You didnt give me a solution. I was wondering if a composite video output from a console can be used as a sync source for rgb. I didnt ask how to split it into hsync and vsync. It's a simple yes or no question. I heard it works but can give bad jailbars.
