Title: Ask Security16
Post by: security16 on May 27, 2012, 07:12:40 am
Out of boredom and the fact i can't sleep because i'm pinging on energy drink I've decided to start a thread where you all can ask me random stuff and i'll attempt to answer your questions. They can be anything but lets try to keep it somewhat clean  :-[  ;D

Just pipping in to say that nobody adds a U to those words, it was there all along but some folks way back when took it out, maybe it was confusing :D

Blame Noah Webster, the man almost single handedly created the American dialect of English.

No i haven't been to Japan yet it's a pretty long swim and every time i start swimming that way they keep harpooning my fat arse!
Yes we have words that require a U in them because we use the Queens English here pretty much we are still a british colony much like Canada. In fact Canada is like Australia for the northern hemisphere but instead of ridiculous heat they have intolerable cold!
Yes I did watch Agro's cartoon connection but they eventually cancelled it because the puppeteer kept feeling up the poor female hosts

I love the British they atleast know how to spell and speak properly.  I feel like banging my head everytime I read or hear the word "anyways".

And our cold isn't intolerable at all only at the northern part where nobody lives.  I'm pretty close to the states and we've had some pretty warm and almost snow-free winters.

Anyway back on topic questions questions.....now that everyone seems to hate mel gibson do you refer to him as "american" or "australian" ?

He's an american he was born there but came here when he was like 15 or something. Jackie Chan to me is an Aussie  though because he grew up in Canberra! Thats the capital city of Australia if anyone ever asks you it also has the largest population of roundabouts per capita!

Westie teenagers! Give me snakes and spiders and sharks any fucking day over feral wannabe ganga's! Most critters will leave you alone teenagers will not even if you give them cigarettes!! But i would say the Sydney funnel web because they can kill you and the bastards like to hide in your shoes or scamper across the floor near your naked feet at a friends house and THEY JUMP!

It can't be that scarce my dad used to grow it in the garage and in most states having a plant is legal as long as it's in a quantity for personal use (usually 1 plant) and sadly i seem completely immune to the effects of it due to long term exposure to it during my life and the one time i did try it, It did fuck all to me and i'm not really a smoker of anything so i couldn't tell you much more than that. Also the state where i live it's really not legal at all and the cops are really starting to crack down on the pot farms (probably because they aren't getting a cut)

I love hugh jackman not only is he in great shape he's an awesome actor and he seems like a cool guy.  My gf was really into real steel I thought he did an amazing job with the whole father son bonding thing.  Even his fake accent was great!  I first saw him in that god awful movie "swordfish" way back when with a young halle berry doing what she does best (bending over and making all the men drool).  Later she became storm and stopped the bending over and people slowly lost interest in her.  Then as a last ditch effort Halle made a dedicated bending over movie known as cat women but by that point the damage had been done...

Seriously though how come so many great actors come from Australia?  Like no good actors come from Canada...

NIDA :D We have a university special for the performing arts and you will find that most of the best actors from Oz went there though these days it's just leftovers from home and away!
Michael Shanks is from Canada so shhhhhh Canadians are like Australians with an americanish accent!

My laundry, mow the lawn, the dishes , cook , entertain the kidlet , play famicom games with me or were you thinking more touristy stuff?
I spose it depends on what you like doing. If you like animals we have zoo's and wildlife parks and a couple of decent aquariums in Sydney one of them you can even go diving with sharks (Which i do want to do some day but it's about $500) They also have whale watching tours for a good part of the year. If you're an outdoorsy type there are really nice places you can go for bushwalks (translated into northern hemisphere english it would be hiking) and there are some awesome beaches around that you can just park your arse and perve (but also see things that can't be unseen like old guys in budgie smugglers) If you're more interested in nightlife there are several clubs in the major cities you can go to and they serve more than just beer but be nice to the bouncers some of them bite.

I dunno it was very odd when i went to Sweden a while back when i was dating a lovely Swedish man the warmest it was while i was there was -5c but when i got back to Sydney it was raining and 21c. I was warm the whole time i was in Sweden and when i got back to Sydney i was freezing my tits off :(
Maybe its because Sweden is close to the north pole and Australia is closer to the tropics.

No mainly because i don't really have a clock. I do however have a nice collection of random black spiders that reside between the window and the flyscreen of my kitchen window and the other day my neighbours had a nice big huntsman hiding in the door handle of thier van.  Also while ripping up some weeds out of my oldies garden i came across some really small funnel web spiders thankfully i had gloves on and they were kinda all half asleep cause of the cold.

But here is one of my spiders with one of my frogs for size comparison (https://m.ak.fbcdn.net/a7.sphotos.ak/hphotos-ak-snc6/184897_1787552045016_6382887_n.jpg)

Probably about the size of my womanly man hands! So maybe 20-25 cm including legs.

Huntsman spiders (commonly known internationally as the clock spider) have big long legs which make them look huge when their bodies are usually about 2-3cm wide and maybe 7-10cm long

Yes and Yes! You have to cook it properly though or it gets very tough. It's like beef only sweeter

It's like sheep or bear then. In Sweden some people jokingly say that sheep tastes like a cardigan sweater because if it's not prepared correctly it will taste very dry. Bear meat needs to be cooked for a long time or it gets very tough.

Why is beer in Australia so expensive?

Shitty alcohol taxes in the hope curbing antisocial behaviour and of course it doesn't work.
