More or less the preset rhythms are the basis for the chords in the box there. The chords can be changed bar by bar; select the chord and hit B. An option screen should fill the staff, allowing you to select the chords in any note, with a variety of permutations. Selecting the pencil allows you to go bar by bar and add notes, the length of the notes depending upon how long you hold the button. Of course if you want to improvise, hit the record button. Then you can move the little ball at the bottom of the screen and rock out. The program is a little un- intuitive, but surprisingly flexible. Not like a tracker, but more of a piano-roll style with presets. I also think there was also a keyboard for it, but I really can't find it outside of random text here and there.
