The only thing that would make me believe there is one before this one (as in maybe a few months before) would be the fact that Nintendo probably wouldn't sell a light gun that didn't come with something it could interact with (like a target). So I would say the earliest light gun release would probably be one that come with a target like the lion or the bust of the lion, because I know the gunman target w/ gun came out in '76. Unless I am totally wrong on the assumption who knows.  :D

I remember reading about that. I love the controversy Nintendo's choice to make their light gun look like a six shooter caused. If you play warioware for the wii, theres a stage where you have to defeat ROB in a starfox type stage, in the japanese version he has a six shooter, in the american version hes got the lame zapper...just takes all the character out of it. meh...

I just played that a few days ago. I thought giving him a Zapper was a funny touch.

I could understand why they took that out, as more people playing Warioware in America will remember the Zapper as opposed to this one. I mean, we'd get it, sure, but most people wouldn't. Besides, I think it's funnier to see ROB holding a giant laser pistol as opposed to a revolver.

I have the one that came with Time Crisis 3 on PS2 and it's safety orange. The thing is noticable from two blocks away. In the dark.

Weird, here the guns are BRIGHT BLUE...and PINK. What un-manly colors.
