Self explanatory topic...
What was the famicom keyboard used for, applications like word processing? Easier text entry of names or passwords and such in games? Did any games actually require it for normal play? (not just easing text entry, but having no controller only option)
It was mostly used for Family Basic. But I don't know if it wa used in any game.
nothing wrong with asking a question in a friendly forum yo
As MasterDisk said, it was only used for Family Basic. Technically, you could use the keyboard's audio data ports to save/load level data in some games (http://www.famicomworld.com/forum/index.php?topic=5017.0), but those aren't using the keyboard itself in any way.
Darn, I was hoping for keyboard/mouse support for the Famicom port of Doom.
It was also used for Famitweet and Google+

d) I've done searches but sometimes I need clarifications, the absence of evidence is not the same as the evidence of absence. I didn't see posts suggesting it was used in any games, but I didn't know if that meant for a fact it was not used in any. I was wondering if maybe it would let you type in the names in Zelda or passwords maybe...
Thanks though this answered what I was curious about. :)
