Title: [WTB] Working/complete FDS
Post by: nvrmndtheruins on July 17, 2012, 07:26:33 am

Looking to buy a Famicom disk system with new belt/ram cart/AC adapter With the original box and a couple games if possible.

Have not had much luck elsewhere looking for one that is complete and from a trust-able source.

For re-assurance you can see both buyer and seller feedback here:

Check out 80sFreak's for sale thread here, he has working FDS units for sale: http://www.famicomworld.com/forum/index.php?topic=6938.0

Just so you know, If you want to get in on the FDS action be prepared to get your hands dirty every now and then, they really don't want to keep working. :)

Actually, my buyers have not had any problems.... that I know.
Once they are well calibrated I think they should last a good couple of years, and read most disks you get.
It isn't all about turning screws though. May need lubrication, hammering etc.

Just stop buying fucking rubbish. As about calibration - do you think people, who assembled and adjusted it at the time were genius? Man, honestly, your stories can be ok on NA, but here LOL Do you have official Nintendo FDS disk for tuning systems? No? Fuck! Stop talking about "calibration" then.

And, yeah, calibration is actually about just turning screws LOL

P.S. not much scary stuff about FDS. Same a s other electronics - keep away from rain, cold, heat, strong magnetic fields, solvents. Have you ever had tape recorder and tapes? Most likely the same cautions.
