Title: my famicom clone broken help

i own one of these

bought it brand new for $15NZD 4 weeks ago

use twice put it nicely back in the box and put away

i go to use it today and it works but the video on the tv is all messed up colors

have tested on 3 tv all i get is messed up colors i opened the console up and everything looks fine

so what could have happened?

I would not expect anything from these Chinese clones. Have you seen the inside of it?
Buy a new one if you must, or pay a little extra for a decent clone, an adapter, or better yet an AV-modded famicom console....

Judging from what I see, several address lines on the CHR bus have failed, either by a loose cartridge slot, cold solder joints, the PCB traces are cut or the bonding wires have come off the silicon dies inside the glob-tops.

If the clone has built-in games try an external cartridge or try flexing the main board around with the console powered up and see if you can get the missing graphics to come back.

If there are no built in games try another cartridge, check the cartridge slot for bent pins or cold solder joints, also try flexing the main board around just like in the above scenario.

I concur with the users above me, it' so cheaply built it's not worth repairing unless it's something really simple. :(

yeah i bought a new one online today for $25NZD

seems to have lots of good feedback so i got it
