Title: Gameboy pocket start doesn't work, random dead pixels.
Post by: ulera on August 05, 2012, 02:06:11 pm
EDIT: My Gameboy pocket has two lines of dead pixels and the start button doesn't work. How hard is that to fix?

Are you 100% certain? Because the games are at least partially loading. It couldn't be a bad cartridge reader or something

Ah. Well I have no reason to salvage parts from it so the next step from here probably involves the trash can :'(

I try to do right by people. Besides I wouldn't want the wrath of the community and paypal services to come down on me for keeping the money ;D

Uhm... I think it is just the contrast setting..
And cleaning the carts.
ulera, it is probably useful to ask for second opinions before you throw something away.

Oh hey you're right!

There is still something wrong with it though... it's got about two lines full of dead pixels and the start button doesn't work :(

I didn't think that after he said that he saw picture on Pokemon but couldn't play.  But now he's explained the contrast and start button not working. Anyways, I do not want a functional GB Pocket, I just wanted a shell for my well used one.

I went ahead and gifted it for the shipping cost. Sure it's fixable but I have a super gameboy 2, gameboy color, gameboy advanced and a gameboy player so I don't think its worth the time and effort just for a fifth gameboy thing.

There is a local Craigslist ad for a 2600 with Popeyes and Pacman for $15, shipping might be bad though because 2600s weigh a bunch.
