Title: Translated the words Contra Force to Japanese
Post by: NintendoKing on August 13, 2012, 06:57:08 am
Is this correct?

強制的禁忌

I am trying to make a Japanese label for Contra Force pirates that actually looks good.

This is what I made thus far, but I think it needs the translation of Japanese text of "Contra Force" also.

Well, I did not win the cart of Contra Force. Argh!

Konami used atejis back in the days when they created the series (Ateji = a foreign word written in Chinese characters of similar pronunciation that may even refer in meaning to the word - it's just for aesthetical value).

The correct katakana spelling for Contra would be コントラ
The official name is 魂斗羅, pronounced the same way (Kon-To-Ra).

As Contra always used Katakana for the extra words in the title (like Super, Hard Corps, Spirits), Force would've been in Katakana.

魂斗羅フォース = Contra Force

If possible, I would suggest moving the Konami logo and KDS-CR in slightly. Don't forget that when you print the label you need to cut it full bleed, which will shave a little printed area off of each side.
