Regarding the worst games for the Genesis, Unnecessary Roughness '95 was pretty bad.
What about that Barbie game? Ugh, such utter shit. Another bad game has to be that Pac Man Adventure game. So confusing that game was...
My favorite was always Warriors of the Eternal Sun.
Never heard of it. Synopsis?
It's the Genesis D&D game. Pretty cool game too, if you like RPGs.
You control four players and have to inspect this giant ravine where your kingdom has been magically transported. There are four worlds to discover and explore.
Sounds good, how much money does it go for?
Not much usually. It's fairly common from what I've seen, as far as RPGs anyway. It's kinda under the radar, so to speak. I'd say you could snag a complete one in good shape for $10-15 or so, maybe even less if you're lucky. This is off the top of my head mind you, involving no research at all. :P
Ahh, okay.
NBA Jam and College Slam are great basketball games.
And continuing with sports, I think College Football USA '96 and College Football National Championship were great games as well. Well, pretty good back then.
And don't forget the Mutant League games...Mutant Football stands as the only football game from EA that I enjoy playing. Hell, it's the only football game other than NES Play Action and Tecmo Bowl that I've ever liked :P
You mean the original Tecmo Bowl? Guess you've never played Tecmo Super Bowl for the NES and/or SNES.
Tecmo Super Bowl is simply amazing, I think.
You're right...I haven't :P
I have TSB for SNES though...just haven't had the urge to play it. Not too big on football games...hockey or rugby games are the only ones that hold my interest :P
Hockey games are best with the NES. Ice Hockey and Blades of Steel are great favorites... :)
Toe Jam and Earl no contest.

Toe Jam and Earl no contest.
Great game, I must agree. :)
My favorite, is "Zero Wing", the Japanese version not he horrible PAL port.
Gunstar Heroes...hands down.
Castlevania Bloodlines and Earth worm Jim....
Why is Earthworm Jim fun to play? I ask because there is a Famicom pirate of it that I want to someday buy.
I consider that Earthworm Jim is one of the games that incluian another form of graphs and diversion at its moment was one of the favorite games of I publish.
Regards
huh?
I think he's trying to say that the character and scenery sprites of Earthworm Jim were enhanced in comparison to other games released around the same time, which enhanced the general gameplay for him.
Perhaps it's lost in translation. I don't know lick about properly writing or speaking Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese or any of the other languages people on this forum know.
I forgot to add Comix Zone as a fave.

That is what tried to say, thank you very much friend
I never got into the genesis, but just recently I bought one for a friend's birthday present at a yard sale. One of the many boxed games included in the $5 purchase was rocket knight. I played that game for a few hours that Saturday and was really surprised. There was a huge variety in the gameplay and it was really fun! I guess it kinda reminded me of a faster playing contra 3. I actually may try to pick up a few genny games now...
Rocket Knight Adventures, Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster's Treasure Hunt, Contra: Hard Corps, Dynamite Heady and Gunstar Heroes will always be the best games on the sega genesis ever.
Run and gun, Contra on acid at a Japanese disco.
Hands down, Sonic the Hedgehog III.
Man, there's so many...if pressed, I'd either pick Adventures of Batman and Robin or any of the first four Sonics.
You all forgot one game; Ristar. Just fantastic and amazing...
Best... Castlevania: Bloodlines ... of course.
Next would be Sonic 3 + Sonic & Knuckles
Worst... Heavy Nova. ugh.
You know, Bloodlines is hands-down my favorite Castlevania game. Even counting Symphony. I REALLY LIKE BLOODLINES.
...although the PSP remake of Dracula X could give it a run for it's money.
If you have a Wii, I'd suggest you download Beyond Oasis.
Dang, I was kinda scared to post here, 'cause I like a lot of videogames from Genesis, but I must choose Sonic 2, Monaco GP 2 , Gunstar Heroes, Bare Knuckle and the awesome Sonic & Knuckles. The best of all my favs is of course Sonic and Knuckles.
Vampire Killer - aka Bloodlines in US ;)
And OutRun, the best race game ever :D
Someday I'm going to get Bloodlines for the Genesis. :)
My Fave is Sonic 2

Quoted for truth. Bloodlines is my favorite Castlevania/Vampire Killer, and OutRun is indeed amazing.
Fave Genesis game? Even though I'm not a fan of the serie, Star Trek Next Generation was the shitniz... It's one of the most complex games I've ever seen on an old system.
Sonic 3
castlevania bloodlines
Forgotten Worlds can be pretty fun (its easy to live forever if you are with a partner)..
Castlevania Bloodlines had some awesome stages in it.
Gaiares is a fun shooter, as is Phelios...
Gunstar Heroes is like candy for the eyes. Anything by Treasure is GOLD.
Thats GOLD, Jerry! GOLD!
Gunstar Heroes for sure!
Sonic 1 and 2
Rocket Knight Adventures
Streets Of Rage
Golden Axe
Power Rangers The Movie
Awesome mention of Rocket Knight Adventures. And the follow up sequel Sparkster was pretty fun too.
Another Treasure game: Dynamite Headdy!
I didn't even know Rocket had a sequel. I must get that!
It should not cost that much. I think they released Sparkster for the SNES as well... I go for the Genesis version mostly because you can get it CIB.
My favorites for the Genesis:
Mutant League Football
Mutant League Hockey
General Chaos
Skitchin'
Gunstar Heroes
Landstalker
Streets of Rage 1,2,3
Splatterhouse 2,3
Dragon's Fury
Cyborg Justice
It's funny, I never remember the Genesis with very much regard, but when I look through my box of games, there's so many that I really, really enjoyed when I was younger. I wonder why that is...
UglyJoe, can you tell me more about Skitchin, Dragon's Fury, and Cyborg Justice? I'm not familiar with those titles...

UglyJoe, can you tell me more about Skitchin,
Skitchin' was this cool game that EA put out. The game engine is a lot like the one used in the Road Rash games, if you're familiar with them. It was basically a racing game where you were on rollerblades. You raced on busy roads and needed to grab onto the backs of cars in order get some real speed. You could also beat up the other racers if you got close enough to them. It's actually a lot like Road Rash, but I always found it to be more fun. It also has a pretty cool soundtrack.

Dragon's Fury,
Dragon's Fury is an awesome pinball game. It's better known as "Devil's Crush" on the PC Engine/TG16. Kinda hard to explain why a digital pinball game is awesome. Grab the rom if you're curious. Again, awesome soundtrack.

and Cyborg Justice? I'm not familiar with those titles...
Cyborg Justice is a beat-em-up where you're a cyborg. It had this awesome gimmick where you could rip off the arms and torsos (and legs, maybe?) of the robots you were beating up and could swap them onto your own body. Enemy has a buzzsaw arm? Beat him up, tear his arm off, swap it! Now you have a buzzsaw arm. Bzzzzzzzzz! It also had these really annoying jumping segments that ultimately ruined the game for me...
Ahh I will have to keep my eyes open for those titles. I have Jaki Crush for the SFC so I am sort of familar with the Crush series (think there is an Alien Crush out there somewhere, too).
Speaking of great soundtracks on Genesis games,,
how about Moonwalker?
::)

Yeah, Alien Crush was released as Dragon's Revenge on the Genesis. It's not as good as the first one, though, I think.

Thunder Force II
Rockman Mega World
Streets of Rage 2
Sonic CD and Snatcher, if the Sega CD counts.
My top 5 genesis games;
Snatcher (sega cd)
Sonic CD (sega cd)
Ristar
Sonic 3
Virtua Fighter (32x)
Yeah for a genesis console, I find Virtua Fighter's 3D graphics and gameplay fantastic.
Wow... one sad tiny little vote for one of my all time favorite games Landstalker. It's ok, I'll give you an Eke-Eke and get you up on the list in no time, little one. :D
I'll second Dragon's Fury (although I always played Devil's Crush on the TG16) and Skitchin' however - damn Skitchin' is fun and getting the random three scorers whenever you hit some sort of jump was always fun.
For fans of Landstalker - do not, repeat, do NOT play it's Dreamcast sequel "Time Stalkers". Just don't - it's that bad, sadly.
Undeadline would have to be my favorite game on the system hands down. One of the hardest, yet most rewarding shooters I've ever played.
For North American releases I'd probably have to go with Contra Hard Corps which is also in my opinion the best Contra game.
My favs are :):
Strider
Castle of Illusion (Mickey Mouse)
Assault Suits Leynos
Magical Flying Hat Turbo Adventure (not the crap western abortion "Decap Attack")
Bare Knuckle
Gain Ground
Sonic and Knuckles
General Chaos
Eternal Champions
Mortal Kombat 1
Vectorman
Altered Beast (I know the arcade was better)
Moonwalker
Also, I see someone mentioned Skitchen earlier, great game.
Best part is you get to pick the music you want to hear, and the most rockin' track is titled "Spicy Placenta."
TASTY!
