So I just got a famicom twin from eBay. Came with a few extra goodies not mentioned in the auction, so that was a plus, but on the downside, there are these little vertical bars all over the picture... Is this normal? If not, should I complain to eBay, and how would I go about fixing it?
Some pics would be helpful.
What kind of TV are you using?
An LG LCD. My PVM doesn't have composite input, only S-Video and RGB.

I tried to get it to show up best I could.
It's normal.
Normal period, or just on the LCD? I don't have the cables to test it on the PVM, and the plain old CRT I have will only accept an RF switch, which I also don't have...
It's normal for LCD's because of bad upscaling. CRT with composite inputs should be easy enough to find for cheap and will give you a much better picture.
Okay, good to know. I'll probably just look into S-Video modding the Twin to get it to work with my PVM. Thanks!
there was a thread about the jailbars. All consoles are affected by jailbars isssue.

That is the answer. ALL the famicoms have jailbars, only they are most noticeable on some models
The AV Famicom is the best model, the jailbars are almost gone...

Don't think that's possible. An RCA to s-video adapter will work just as well though. (No improvement in quality, but no loss either.)
Ah yes this.. It always looks like this on LCD TVs... The wonders of new technology! I have a good quality 14 inch CRT myself to play Famicom on, and it looks gorgeous. Not to make you envious or anything :upsetroll:

AFAIK, all PVMs have composite video, it's just that the inputs use a BNC connector as opposed to RCA. BNC to RCA converters are dirt cheap, no need to do any modding.
