Title: What cool repro to make with a mmc3 pcb?
Post by: keropi on December 17, 2012, 04:47:40 pm
Hiya!

I have in my possession (thanks  to a friend that gifted it to me  :star: ) a mmc3 game pcb and some eproms, to be precise it's this game: SD Hero Soukessen: Taose! Aku no Gundan  (http://bootgod.dyndns.org:7777/profile.php?id=1520)

Since I don't know that much about hacks/interesting games and the pcb does not have the mask roms, what game do you suggest I make this into?
From bootgod's site I found interesting to make a translated Y's II game but I am open to suggestions!
I hear I can also make this to Recca or Over Horizon , but I would really appreciate some more suggestions!
TIA!  :)

I made a mistake on the pcb, it is actually a HVC-TKROM-02 one.... apparently the sram is for saving. Would a TLROM game work on that?

Ooh TKROM is even better. Mother (Earthbound) is one of the most popular conversions. You could also do Chronicles of the Radia War, Kunio Jidai Geki (the one set in feudal Japan,) Joy Mech Fight (neat robot vs fighter,) or any of the season hacks of Tecmo Super Bowl. they are all TKROM based.

for now I settled with the Castlevania 2 super-pimped HQ hack : http://www.famicomworld.com/forum/index.php?topic=8748.0

I even put sockets for the eproms, the updates are daily until it's perfect!

(don't mind the error on the PRG eprom, will fix it tomorrow  ;D )

Just read about that. Looks beautiful. I'm gonna try the VRC6 version. Heard the music updates are badass.

only in japanese castlevania3 vrc6 produces awesome music... in castlevania2 it is only used as a mapper chip, one must make new music to support vrc6 and patch the game's music engine too...

Is there a way to patch with some sort of FDS converted ROM?

Is there a converted version? I know someone on Youtube posted VRC6 remakes of the music, and I wonder how hard it would be to hack them into the VRC6 version of the game.

Here is a link to the search results. Looks like a bunch of people have done VRC6 remixes of CV2 tunes.
