Title: Would A Famicom Hori Twin Make a God NES Conroller Adapter?
Post by: okame on January 19, 2013, 09:56:55 pm
I had an idea. The Hori Twin Adapter for the Famicom system has a male Famicom plug and two female Famicom ports on the box. Would someone on this forum be able to rewire it if I bought 2 NES controller extension cords and the Hori Twin, then paid for shipping both ways, plus a fee for the mod? The mod fee would have to be under $50, as I'm on a limited budget. I'm tired of pulling the wooden TV tray table that my Twin Famicom is on up to my bed. The attached cord is cute, and I'm getting the FDS Zelda disk (and Famicom cart) later to try the 2nd controller mic trick, but I like playing other, non mic specific games like my 42 in 1 Multicart that I bought with a 60 to 72 adapter. It's fun to play old Famicom games that I can't afford yet (and may never want to buy at all), but the short Twin Famicom cords are giving me a worse slouch than usual. That system's gonna turn me into a hunchback!

Well a less and cheaper mod would be to add a new longer cord to your fami controllers,I did this to my famicom and it worked great.

I don't do mods, and I don't want to send the whole Twin Famicom to someone just for a wire. This way, I'm sending something to be made into an adapter, and I can still play Famicom carts an disks.

I would rather use two NES->FC controller adapters and the Hori Twin.  Don't destroy the Hori Twin! :'(

I think it would be way better to just build a converter as opposed to gutting a perfectly good Hori Twin for one. It's not too difficult and it doesn't involve any extra components since you'll wiring everything straight up.

Where did you get the longer cords?

I used a 3rd party gamecube cord,as long as you have enough wires it's a easy mod to do.
