Someone at taobao is selling modded gba consoles with better screen.

He is also using original boards:

Here is the link to the item:

Looks nice, but I. Think I'd rather just get an AGS-101
On that note, can someone find me one?
well at taobao there are cheap 101 models also :)
But i like the original gba better because it just feels better in my hand :)
Oh and if someone wants to buy from taobao they can use this site
http://www.9channel.com/
they are great :)
I want to get one of these eventually. I have an AGS 101, but the clicky buttons annoy me, and I find it way less comfortable to hold in my hands.
Any mention if the new screens are 1:1 resolution? On the first picture Zelda looks like it went some filtering, quite typical for a lcd screen that does not run on it's native resolution...

With GIMP or Photoshop you can do even more.
Im pretty sure its just a 101 screen with a ribbon adapter to install it to a original gba.

Yeah, that pic looks Photoshopped to me...
Clearly Photoshopped.
Spoiler
Gotta love conspiracy theories :)

Don't know if the picture is photoshoped or not but the cable looks real to me. ( the one that gives you the ability to use gba sp screen on gba )
I don't see any reason to believe it's photoshopped
Pretty cool, although I'll stick with my SP.

Then why does the screen look like a blurry JPG?
Because the image is a blurry jpeg. Other than that it just looks like Minish Cap to me

Yeah I contacted the guy from china 3- 4 months ago after watching a YouTube video of a guy who did the mod to his GBA its AGS 101 screen with a custom ribbon cable that attaches to the full bodied GBA and you have to solder 2 wires to a power and ground to to power the backlight

Here's a copy of the email the guy sent me it all seem legit I think I've read about four or five post from different forums who have ordered from him with and had no issue ordering from him they said installation was super simple as well

The ribbon cable for $18
But shipping to USA is expensive for $18
Thanks
Zerey
I never did order I just emailed him you can order a kit state side from Rose colored gaming
but to me there a little over priced I guess part of it goes to his super pretty packaging, which I could give to shakes about put it in a good bubble folder and I'm happy its not like he manufactured them he just ordered a bulk and designed super nice vector packaging

It looks like he lower his prices I guess $65 is not too bad for the screen kit but its still cheaper to order it directly

Just want to clarify why my price is what it is.
1) I offer a 30-day warranty
2) I also include components to add a 2-way brightness switch with the kit
3) I spent the time to make a clear, English instruction manual (http://rosecoloredgaming.wordpress.com/downloads/) to go along with these kits
4) And yes, I offer retail packaging. I know that doesn't add value for everyone, but that's a big part of what my brand is about; selling products and services that add the extra level of detail in an attempt to recreate the days of yesteryear when game cart came in big boxes, with color manuals, and were tucked into baggies, etc. I'm trying to re-create/emulate that, and for a lot of folks it seems to be major area of interest in what I do ;D
That said, Zerey's price is ~60.00 shipped, and mine is 65.00. Zerey is great guy and I in no way mean to take sales away from him. He's my supplier after all. We offer the same product, but to different customers ;)
Anywho, game on!
Well can you post some pictures?
There are lots of pics on my site, though I still have a TON that I need to upload.

What specifically would you like to see pics of? Completed modded GBAs?

No worries. I didn't take it that way at all. Everyone has their opinion about pricing and what an item is worth. I just wanted to clarify why my price is what it is, nothing more ;)
I'm on Digipress, Cheap Ass Gamer, Assembler, Racketboy, GBAtemp, benheck, and obviously TCP like you mentioned as well. I'm registered on about a zillion other forums, but those are the only that I post on with any regularity.
