Title: Between these two AV modifications, there're no differences on the screen ...
Post by: famiav on March 03, 2013, 02:28:24 am
On my first Famicom, I make this AV modification : http://www.famicomworld.com/forum/index.php?topic=4713.msg109867#msg109867

The image on the screen was very beautiful with great colors. But my problem was jailbars, like everyone...

So, I decided to make this revision of AV mod : http://jpx72.detailne.sk/modd_files/fc/avmod.htm  I felt that jailbars be minimized with this.

However, the picture on my TV is exactly the same as the first mod ! And I always jailbars on the image ...

I dare not desolder the PPU to put the "copper foil",  I welded ceramic capacitors around the PPU between a +5 V and GND point, but I have no difference ...

actually i'd wrapped PPU by copper foil without any desoldering. And it works without jailbars!

Hmm. Interesting ! If you do not mind famifan, could you send me exactly what you've done and implanted into your AV mod and on the motherboard in the form of steps please? That would be great!

Also, in my Famicom, there is a metal plate affixed to the PPU, silver in color. What is it?

Finally, regarding jailsbars, look at this French site, according to them, a 100uF capacitor and a 3300 uF are enough to get rid of jailbars. Strange: http://www.otakus-store.net/fr/content/12-famicom-av

Very neat job, but very complicated.

Remember - pins as short as possible. You don't need to buy'em new, desolder from old PC mobo.
