Hello all, i just aquired a famicom and i have it hooked up but i cant get it to work. i did notice that there is no switch for the channel 1 channel 2 but a switch for game/ TV. It powers up but i cant figure out what channel to have it on or is it just defective? Any help would be much appreciated.

First, wrong section. Second, are you in an NTSC country? Chances are higher that it works on an NTSC TV than a PAL TV. On US NTSC TVs the channel should be 95 or 96. For PAL I don't know (doesn't work on my TV). If you get a good picture but no sound you could get around it using an FM-tuner. http://famicomworld.com/workshop/articles/famicom-fm/

If nothing works you might want to look into AV-modding (look around the forum).

If it has only one switch in the back it could be a Makko toys modified Famicom or something. http://www.famicomworld.com/forum/index.php?topic=4138.0 (scroll down to the second pic).
