Title: non-critical bugs in famicom games
Post by: famifan on March 21, 2013, 07:56:15 am
inspired by that thread http://wiki.nesdev.com/w/index.php/Game_bugs

i'm also noticed slowdowns for few secs on rekka and rockman, and some music engine glitches on ninja-ryukendenIII.

something else i missed?

I hit a bug with Highway Star a few times:

Not sure if that's the same bug they have listed for Rad Racer (doesn't sound like it is...).

The infamous SMB minus world would count.  Slowdown isn't a bug though.

The first time I played Castlevania, I watched through the demos then played the entire first stage without any music. :(

Wait, you said non-critical! This is critical!! Because no one should ever start this iconic series without hearing Kinuyo Yamashita's Vampire Killer.

In Patlabor sometimes when you jump you'll land within the floor, seen here:

You're not stuck or anything, just jump or simply walk out from the block.

bad collision programming...  I had that when I made my first demo, then went and learned about hitboxes some.

Yup, bad programming. Never had that problem myself, collision detection really ain't that hard. Is your demo available for download?

This was years ago when I was messing around with Klik n Play.  The main character was a jumping green rectangle ;)

Super Mario Bros 2 / Super Mario USA.  If you jump just right you can land inside the edge of a corner.  You can just back out just fine but it happens alot if you shortjump onto a platform.  Also if you are pulling up a veggie in the sub-con world and it changes at teh right time you will have the veggie stuck in your head and it will go away after you pick another one up sometimes or if you go through a door it goes away.  There are a few more.  Mike from Cinemassacre showed a bunch of them.
