Got my Everdrive N8 in the post today and I'm extremely happy with it but at the moment is just the pcb. I took apart an old galg cart and I'm harvesting/butchering (never been good at this sort of thing) its shell. My problem is I don't own a printer at all so as much as I'd love to attempt to make a label for the front and back of my cart ill never be able to. :'(
Is there any good person among ye out there in famicom world that would come to my rescue and make me the label for front and back and il pay ye cash money for doing so. :coin:
Al.
I can make you the design of the labels and will send you the pdf ready to be printed and a psd if you need to change anything. You can print them in your area and it will cost you around 2or 3$ :-) (oh and i forgot to mention that i will do it for free)
I'll send them on if you need Al, you're basically next door over there.
Sent you both pms

Just looking for a nice design. There isn't really anywhere to print near here though.
Al.
I've put one by for you Al. Choose your 'official' label sticker by Arcade:
...or you can have whatever's on the cart, or a custom design. I've made multiple different 'pulseline' versions myself as well in case red doesn't work.
I might even try a gold cart, like this beauty:

Looks great, but you'll miss the lightshow the N8 offers when it's in use. I also have a spare Salamander cart I'm going to prep and charge for.
Not sure what to do with these Salamander PCBs now, re-case them in pirate shells?
Putting the Salamander PCBs in new shells would be the best option imo.
You just can't throw them away. :'(

Wow.
Nice work.
Your talented.
I'd love the sliver and red one. Could you do it with the 2012 date removed? Excuse my ignorance but what's a salamander cart? Never heard of that before.
I'd love it in a cart in the same red as the console or black or white. I reckon it would look amazing in my fami.
update: Well I have officially mangled the last cart I had available to create a shell. When opening it upi snapped the inner tabs again. Damn my big rough hands. Definitely not up to the delicate work.
Al.
Salamander (Life Force in the US) has a beautiful transparent shell:

Wow. The salamander shell looks just amazing. Could you put an everdrive sticker on it instead of the salamander sticker or is it permanent.
I really love the look of the salamander cart if the label could be changed.
Al.
It's just a label with a transparent background (you can see it in the picture), so it can be peeled off. I can't believe people would destroy a Salamander cart, though :'(

Thanks for the reply.
I definitely shouldn't be left near it anyway. Ha ha ;D If it could be printed on a transparent label it reckon it would look amazing. Even a solid label would look amazing. If you still have the salamander cart I'd definitely be interested in it L_E_T
I MAY have one or two prepped Salamander spares ;)
However, these come at a cost and I will not be giving these away for cheap I'm afraid. I've saved all the PCBs.
On the label - I actually can't remove 2012 from Arcade's label as they're printed and in my hands. I can make you a red cart and will try and do this tonight. Updates to come...
send me a pm with price of salamander cart if you can please. looking forward to seeing the red cart.
Will do, should be able to jump on this tonight...
[UPDATE]
Getting there...
As well as a couple Salamander carts, I have a box of successfully opened carts ready to trim and prep for those interested:
One thing I will say is - don't even try this with Jaleco carts, they really shatter under even the slightest pressure.
I had to open all these with my hands because I don't have rubber grips, so it may be possible to avoid breaking them, but I won't try any more Jaleco carts.
They seemed a good choice because most are very cheap, but I have found Namco cases the second easiest to open.
The Salamander carts shells are made of very flexible plastic (translucent side-effect I guess) and took very little effort to open, for those interested in doing this themselves and wary of messing it up.
Very excited to see the carts.

That is a nice looking gold plated cartridge where did you get that
That's Super Xevious if I'm not mistaken.
That's right. Though I must say I'd strongly recommend against black or gold-coated carts, as you miss out on the N8's light-show. even navy carts will let the light shine through, but I couldn't see it on a Namco cart.
The gold Super Xevious cart is basically a black plastic cart with gold paint coating. The coating isn't on the bottom of the cart where you see the pins. I don't like that either.

hey, L___E___T, if you don't have any pre-opened carts/labels you can send me for my N8, can you offer some advice on how you got those carts open by hand? My wife and I will be spending some time at my dad's in a couple of weeks and I'm sure he has a grip of some sort I could use, but man...when I tried to open a Clu-Clu Land cart last night, it didn't seem like I made any progress at all (trying to be gentle and not break any clips.)

Just wondering have you any carts ready. I can't wait to get one off you.
Al.
I am being kept very busy at work so haven't made much progress. I have one done for MarioMania and one nearly done for you Al.

Just wondering are you having any joy finishing the shell. Might sound a bit ott but at the moment I'm wrapping up the everdrive every day in bubblewrap when I finish using the famicom. Love to get a shell from you if your finished because I want to mind it Ha ha. :redcart:
Let me know either way because I might have another go at trying not to mangle a shell.
Al.
Have one yellow shell and one red shell done :)
Was going to post pics with labels, but yes finally some progress!
My Everdrive arrived in the city I work in today, but since I'm working from home, I won't get it until tomorrow. In any case, I can't remember if I mentioned it, L___E___T, but I ended up making my own case using an Excitebike. The label's not perfect - I used regular paper with tape for gloss, then some industrial-strength adhesive that caused some tightening of the tape (hence the bubbling, which has gone down considerably over the past week) - but it'll do: (http://www.invisiblegamer.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/edn8.jpg)

Awesome. Can I arrange to purchase a shell from you? If the red one is available I'd love it but at this stage I'm not fussy.
Al.
Sure Al, I've prepped a red case for you:

I was really precise with this and it's a clean shell. I've just got to add the labels (back label had writing)
Also have a yellow shell prepped for Mario Mania:
(http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii47/L___E___T/null_zpsf7a3791d.jpg) (http://s261.photobucket.com/user/L___E___T/media/null_zpsf7a3791d.jpg.html)
Next up is an Adventure time shell. Think I would rather leave the label as is on this one, once I've cleaned the cart:

Can I assume I am on deck next? The red one looks soo good!
Looks amazing l_e_t.
How much do I owe you?
The label is gonna look super nice on that shell. And my everdrive will look even nicer in it. Ha ha.
Al.
Ok Al what colour was your first choice? I think Salamander is goin to be problematic so I have to rule those out for now. So yellow is already put by for MarioMania, that leaves one red (textured), one white Adventure Island done and one grey Capcom cart done. Pics to come. CMonster just let me know your first and second colour choice I'll make yours as of now.
Think I have some more red carts around. Also I found out Irem carts are no good :)
My first choice is red. Then white then black.

Al.
Al I still need to print/apply labels, please just await a PM I'll get to you very shortly.
CMonster I have white and black if I have run out of red so will give you first refusal there. Sorry these have taken so long I've been kept very busy.

Sorry to bump an old thread but
WHY DOES THAT GOLD EVERDRIVE SAY 8N INSTEAD OF N8??!
