What is the most exciting, interesting, or unusual piece of your Famicom collection? What do you have that just makes you go, Damn! I'm so glad I have this?
I'm sure many of you will blow me away, as I'm just sitting on an AV Famicom and 110 games (and all but four are loose). I'd have to go with my Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa cart, or maybe my Moon Crystal.
(If we were talking American NES, that'd be another story. THAT's my main collection.)
Wonderful question, my comrade. For me, it'd have to be my beloved favorite games.

Especially Wanpaku Kokkun No Gourmet World, simply because it's a game I spent 7 years desiring so badly, but thinking I'd never get it.
I am making this placeholder, but I need to think about what is my most prized Famicom game.
AV Famicom featuring Splatterhouse: Wanpaku Grafitti!
Probably my CIB Summer Carnival '92: Recca. Not only is it a collection piece, it's a great game as well. I spent a lot of time just playing it's Score Attack mode, with my best score eventually breaking the 500k barrier at 512,801. The game is also special to me as it's the first Famicom game I ever bought - even before I bought the actual system. I just saw it, decided I wanted it and then I had to get the console to play it on and then I thought it'd be neat if I had some other games for it as well...and that's how I got started.
I have many games that could apply to this but right now I have to say Family Basic. I have a special thing for manuals and hardware, and this game comes with a keyboard and a huge manual so it gets extra points for that. It's also quite unusual, at least outside Japan. The ability to program my Famicom however I want (with some limits) is really exciting and yeah, I'm glad I have this.
I really love kid dracula. Like P - I Have a soft spot for family basic. I now have the translation printed. Im a slow learner - but is soooo much fun.
my two favorites :) BUT i would have to say I like the wild gunman set more 8)
For me it'd be my new and unused Famicom. In game terms, I think I like my Akumajou Dracula cart most.
For me, it would have to be the Famicom itself. It's nothing special I suppose, but it's in great shape. It's still white, and the "FAMILY COMPUTER" and the controller plates still have the protective plastic wrap on them. The system also has an AV mod that I tinkered with for weeks with the help of other board members until I got perfect AV out with no jailbars
Aside from that, I don't have any particularly rare games, but I do have several that I have turned into English language carts, Kid Dracula being my favorite. I don't consider then valuable, but I put some love into making those things :D
As I suspected, some of the other regulars here have some sweet stuff. I'm definitely going to need an original Gimmick! cart like wholesalewatch. Maybe I'll get a Recca someday, but it probably won't be CIB!
And don't worry, Gohan. I nearly picked my AV Famicom itself as my centerpiece. And I've got a handful of FC games that I'll need to decide on possibly getting translated/reproed so I can actually play them better. Downtown Special and Esper Dream 2 may top that list.
I like so much of my Famicom stuff, but my one centerpiece is in the mail and is somewhere between Europe and Taiwan. Really excited to get this one. :)

+1
I would have to say my family basic too! Now if only I could get one of my tv's to be friends with the famicom! *mutters something about shitty PAL systems*
Now I'd actually have to say another prized possession of mine would be my copy of Jigoku Gokurakumaru.

Not only is it one of my favorites, but my copy of it was actually new and unopened... so it was pretty cool getting to open that game for the first time.
I'd have to say Crisis Force. I love everything about it, especially the music.
I too love the Family Basic set! I just got it recently and already love it! I like programming and I love how simple it is to learn this stuff, even though the manual is in japanese. I Still need to check out the translation of the manual so I can really cook up some nifty programs! Aside from that, I also consider my disk system games like Bio Miracle Bokkute Upa, Ai Senshi Nicol, as well as the Yume Penguin Monogatari cartridge I have. I looooove konami! :o
Mine is definitely my AN-505BK Twin Famicom. The sexiness of that particular model and the very unique sound of actual analog moving parts in the disc drive is what originally drew me to the Famicom scene.
My rockman minus infinity repro cart. It's just an open pcb, but d@mn that game is fun.
