Title: dogbone controllers
Post by: sconley666 on August 30, 2013, 07:02:41 am
are the dogbone controllers for the AV famicom the same length as the dogbones for the toploader NES?  or are they 3' like the orginal famicom controllers?  I've been considering grabbing an AV famicom but was curious of this.

Nope, Famicom dogbones have much shorter cords than NES dogbones.
I have to use extension cords every time I play.

Yup I had to buy cable extenders too. They are original Famicom short.

Are the internals of the dogbone controllers the same between NES and famicom? or do they differ in any way? (besides cord length)

Thanks!

I used my FourScore for the same purpose.

i guess that even though they are only 3 feet like the originals, at least they come out of the front of the console.

Its not a huge issue I guess  I could always replace the cords with NES controller cords considering they are all the same connector to the PCB inside.  Thanks for the info and demystifying that for me.
