Title: Looking for a Famicom.
Post by: JessicaWolf on October 13, 2013, 05:12:44 pm
Anybody out there got a Famicom up for sale for cheep? Mine is effectively dead. I would prefer a US seller so I don't have to wait 3 weeks and pay crazy shipping, but if that is the only way, that will have to do.

Cosmetic condition isn't much of an issue as long as it's not missing plastic bits and such. Seriously, my last one looks like it came out of this house http://imgur.com/gallery/mjDmL

I believe it could be 1 or 2 problems. The most evident problem is that something is wrong with the TV output, where it will only work if I put pressure in certain ways on the connector. I tested it with 2 different cords on 2 different TVs just to rule out the easy fixes. I have already opened it up to check for loose solder points and such, and found none.

The other problem I might be having as well is a worn out or dirty connector on the Famicom itself, but that is hard to tell with all the problems I am having from the first issue.

No, I use the single RF plug it originally came with.

I would charge 10 bucks for the mod plus shipping.

Hmmm, that seems quite reasonable.
Have you done this before and/or have pictures of your previous work?
