Title: Tracking number question regarding japan post.

Hey i recently bought something of ebay and the seller has written this as a tracking number but since i do not know japanese i can't understand what it means can you help me?

該当しない, gaitou shinai, Not Applicable.  Most Japanese shipping options won't give you a tracking number.

I know but  i was wondering what it is and why did he bother to enter japanese text  inside the shipping field.

He didn't enter this. It's automatic default value.

Tracking(registered) is an option and cost IIRC 410JPY at counter, so add paypal and ebay fees on top and ask yourself, would you like to pay that extra or not?
