Title: Anyone Good with Sega Saturn Hardware?
Post by: DahrenDreamcast on July 02, 2015, 10:08:16 am
Hi Guys, Got a modded PAL Saturn today. (to play all regions, no switches)

Anyway, when it came earlier, it had no sound, tried to TV's one CRT and on LCD.

Someone said to check the ribbon, so I did, all looked secure and plugged in.

Put it back together, still no sound and now it wont even load discs...

What can I do?

Thank You.

if the CD was working before but isn't now then I'd say recheck it make sure everything is in correctly (remove and replug)
if it still isn't reading discs might be worth cleaning the lens with isopropyl alcohol and a cotton bud

as for the sound issue might be worth checking the scart is plugged in correctly and that the din doesn have any bent pins
I also have a pal switchless 50/60, mtsc/ntsc-j/pal system

I agree. Sometimes stuff just doesn't work, even when tested. Once I bought a working FDS from RetroGameCity on ebay a looong time ago and it came not working. I told the guy, and he sent me a disk drive unit by itself that was supposed to work, as well as an Akumajou Dracula disk. I can't remember if it worked or if I had to fix it myself... But the guy did have good service. Hopefully this guy can provide you with parts.

Unfortunately I don't have any experience or any knowledge on the Saturn.
