Title: Super Mario Maker (Wii U)
Post by: Pit on September 13, 2015, 01:06:38 am
Hey guys,

Don't know if there's a lot of Wii U's owner out there :)

I thought it would be interesting to share our levels on this board. That "game" is great, regarding all possibilities given to make levels, it showes how leel design can be difficult of course, but funny !

My Wii U ID : gojirien

Here are my first steps : (Level id : 1506-0000-0020-0980

I can't wait to see what folks come up with once they really sink their teeth into Mario Maker.  The stuff that's been generated already has been tremendous.

I will get this game later on when I have more time, money, and a Gamepad :P I love games involving design and I'm probably gonna play the crap out of this game. I'm going to buy the new Animal Crossing Designer game first though.

I wish I was excited for SMM, but after spending over a decade with Lunar Magic and still trying to complete my SMW hack, I just don't feel like getting it at the moment.

I wanted this game forever and I was going to wait until I was finished moving. But the temptation was too strong, so I caved and bought it today. My Wii U's packed, though, so I'll have to wait about a week.

Some of the levels I would like to make:
- An abridged version of SMB1 put into one level to celebrate Mario's 30th anniversary.
- A Mario remake of Castlevania I. (I'll make each level individually and name them after the Castlevania levels)
- A new version of 2-3 from SMB1.

I also want to try and remake some of the levels I've made in Super Mario Bros. X. I've spent a ton of time on each level in that program and always wanted to share those levels.

My latest offering:   0388-0000-004F-561F

It started out as a test run, but I really liked how it came out.  Gave me all sorts of interesting ideas for future levels.

EDIT:  Corrected the typo.

Shumi Nagaremono: I played "Groundhog Day" yesterday, nice variations on a theme! I think you balanced it nicely, not too hard while still challenging.

PatMan33:

You´re right, Bomb-Omb Battle Group is too hard for me. But I must say it´s an amusing design, well put together. I would however appreciate a checkpoint before the barrage of even more cannons near the end. I didn´t feel encouraged to start over again. I´l try some of your other levels and see if I can master them.

BaconBitsKing:

I played some of your levels, I had most fun with "Don´t press the P". It´s a smart idea and in the end an entertaining playthrough. Usually Bowser Jr ended up pressing a switch unleashing the madness... ;)

My own world consists of 4 levels in SMB-style.The first level is:

A769-0000-00D8-227B

I´ve strived for a difficulty curve where the first level is easy and the rest get more challenging.

Junior's Airship

This is a boss ship full of alternate routes, bonus rooms and finally a super-secret way of skipping the boss fight altogeter! Speaking of the level boss, you´re in for a rough encounter with Junior...

Difficulty is like the end of SMB3.
