I got my guy in Japan to pre-order a copy for me.
Oh it's made by Riki. Cool stuff! :)
Did Kira Kira star also come in a CIB package?
Nope. Just the book and CD.
Thanks for posting this!! Ordered! :) I found that play-asia has them up for pre-order :o

It would be amazing if they could put Kira Kira star up for sale on a cart! I would order it immediately!

I want to preorder this; which of those sites would be most recommended?

I can't speak for Play-Asia since I've never ordered from them, but Amiami is a site I've been ordering from for years, and I can't recommend them enough.
Do keep in mind that they're located in Japan, and their prices are in Yen. Also, you won't know the exact shipping fee until the item is released. They offer SAL, registered SAL, Air Small Packet, and EMS.
Here's a link to their Frequently Asked Questions; http://www.amiami.com/top/page/t/faq.html (http://www.amiami.com/top/page/t/faq.html)

I've used play-asia for many years without any issue. Fast and reliable every time for me.
I love how this cart and KKSN use the same engine, "game"- and sound-wise. NSD.lib seems to be pretty sturdy for real production works.
Makes sense that they reuse some of their old code. I looked into using NSD.lib too as a sound engine, and it seems great with MML and all, but it seemed to me you are forced to program in C (CC65) in order to use it, while I like to stick to assembly. Also I couldn't find any info on PAL optimization so I gave it up.
Edit: Just checked it again and it does have some assembly sample programs (using CA65 assembler syntax).
I can vouch for Play Asia. I have used them on several occasions. Super excited for this release!
Thanks for the recommendations guys, I preordered with Play Asia. Let's see how it goes :)
Pre-ordered mine on AmiAmi. Really excited for this one!

I can vouch for play-asia as well.
Cool stuff, I'll be picking mine up on amazon.jp as an excuse to pick up a couple other things. ;D
I forgot to order one! :S Now I gotta scour eBay, unless someone has a spare I can buy?
I'd also love to buy one :bub:
Is that amazon (http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B018I0R4OS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=AN1VRQENFRJN5) link still opened to buy from? If so, maybe someone could make a bulk order for me and Luke (if there's no others interested of course) ?
edit:: bought elsewhere.

Cool stuff. While listening, you can mute any of the Pulse ch1, Pulse ch2, Triangle, Noise and DeltaPCM channels at will. Should be interesting to some. There are also two simple minigames with several difficulties for each. In one you try to collect coins, in the other you dodge stars. The latter could be a fun little diversion for shmupper-types.
Each track has some accompanying images and/or animation to them, and out of the songs themselves I'm liking Circus Game and Oriental Mystique the most so far. But I don't think any of them are as good as the greatest Famicom/NES music we're already familiar with, like tunes from Ninja Gaiden, Mega Man or any of Tim Follin's works.
