Title: Famiclone cartridge label scan - help fixing the picture
Post by: jpx72 on September 25, 2017, 02:40:21 am
Hello
can somebody with graphical computer skills help me with my cartridge label scan?
I have scanned it 3 times from a convex-shaped surface (it's sticked to a console :'( ), so the first one has blurred left and right side. Next two I scanned to have sharp sides.
I have saved these 3 images to a single image with 3 layers, saved in PDN format (freeware software "PaintNET (https://www.getpaint.net/)").
I need to somehow bring them together or make the best possible output from the scan.

Here is the file:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B0-ItP2pUJolUzVYOC1yRy1jN0U

I know it's just a pirate, but it's the best "original sticker" I have found for my 700in1 cartridge.

Thanks!! :-[

Can you export it to something other than PDN?  Maybe PSD or XCF?

I'll help but I can't use PDN - maybe you could just share the three images?  Or, if you have a newer iPhone, just take a really still picture, in clear daylight and it'll be as good as any scan.

This is absolutely everything I could do with your source material >> http://mwk1.vot.pl/fw/700in1a.jpg

If you just need that graphics inside, without the white border, here it is >> http://mwk1.vot.pl/fw/700in1b.jpg
I could adjust levels if you need some more (contrast/brightness).
Also, I didn't know what's the final size of this sticker, so I approximated it to 90x43mm (at 300dpi RGB of course).

Cheers Jan  <pivo>

That's absolutely awsome! Thank you bro!  8)
You have even corrected the scratches and tape lines! :o
I think it will be looking perfect printed on a sticker. It is for this cartridge:

My absolute favourite, mapper 221.

This is the monster that came up with it:

IQ-1000, AWAAA!!

I've been wondering, how this console match up with the other clones and/or Famicoms?

It's an a good clone with flaws. The sound channels are swapped and the audio circuit needs to be rewired to avoid video noise leaking through the audio cable. There are definitely better ones around but that one is OK.

I like the full custom hardware that fills the entire plastic shell, very heavy clone, very nice too. You don't see these very often. The infra red wireless controller is bad-ass!! The other wired controller even has an audio earphone jack!
It's exactly the same as on this wonderful site:

The Micro Genius manual says 'Keyboard' and 'Disk Drive.' ??? Anyone have any information on that?
