Title: Apologies to Everyone, and an Explanation
Post by: fcgamer on November 05, 2020, 10:05:19 am
I can't believe it's November. It's been a strange year for everyone in the world. Despite missing out on the lockdowns and most of the covid-19 nonsense (thus far, anyways), the virus situation also put my life on hold, essentially. I figured I'd just post a few things about what's been going on in my life, as I haven't been active on here much anymore, but before that I'd just like to mention something else.

First off I want to apologize to everyone here for my tardiness on mailing parcels, as well as my lack of communication. I really don't want to get into specifics, but I ran into some troubles, and this delayed me from being able to mail out parcels. Then embarassment and pride sets in, making one less inclined to log in and post, hence then a lack of communication. With covid-19 it's been a really trying and scary year for everyone, myself included, and unfortunately other priorities took place. So for the three people whose parcels I haven't finished shipping yet, I want to apologize for such a delay, and I'll find a way make it up to you both, as well as finish sending things out over the course of the next few days.

As for 2020:

Last year was a really bad year for me, as I had to make one of the hardest decisions of my life, as to whether I'd break things off with my ex, who happened to be the older sister of my first friend here in Taiwan. Looking back on things, I should have never entered that relationship to begin with, but my friend had sort of pushed me into it, too quickly after a terrible breakup with a woman I thought I'd be getting married to. Although my friend's sister is a lovely person, we just are too different as people, and we didn't even have a proper chance to get to know each other better, as marriage was being pressured towards me since their mom is severely ill. So about one year ago I finally broke things off, realising that I'd quite possibly lose my good friend as well, though luckily that never happened. It made me really look forward to this year though, as I was optimistic that my life would start improving greatly, after all the difficulties I went through last year. Then covid-19 came.

On a different note, a good friend and I started up a language school here in Taiwan. We have curriculum set for English language classes locally, and we also have things lined up to offer online language classes in Chinese, Japanese, etc. At the moment we are looking for students, again covid-19 sort of put a damper on letting this dream of ours blossom properly this year, but I hope that within a year or so we can turn this into a proper gig.

On another note, for those of you living in the same region as your family, cherish it. Although life bis basically "normal" here in Taiwan, the travel situation is quite frustrating, and it sucks tremendously knowing that although I'm in a good place, it's not realistic for my family to come over and visit me.

This year, it just feels like I'm spinning my wheels. Just waiting things out.

Hope everyone else here is fine, and again, I'm sorry for my silence.

Online definitely seems like the way to go for the foreseeable future.  Good luck!

I live a few hours from my family (different state) and even then travel is pretty stressful.  Can't imagine being in a different country.
