I recently purchased a Tristar (aka Super 8), it's a sfc addon that's basically a famiclone you bolt to a sfc that allows you to play nes and fc games. The menu screen and sfc / snes games work fine, however 8 bit games will not function, it simply outputs a black screen

I tried every nes / fc game I own and the only one that did anything was fc Gradius and it made the screen purple after the reset button was held (shown in video)
I took the thing apart and was hoping for some insight into what might be wrong, below are a number of pictures of the board.

The plastic shell is warped on the bottom around the area where the large black glob sits on the bottom of the circuit board, I have a feeling this might have something to do with it not working.
