Hello! How much are you selling your FDS Port to cart and Holy grails for?
I want to buy dose FDS carts! :o How many are doubles? Doki Panic, SMB2 :mario:, Bubble Bobble :bub:
OMG that Metroid! :o
Does All Night Nippon have the manual?
Oh, I didn't notice the Cashapp requirement. :( I'm out.
But what games are the third from the top on the left, the black cartridge soccer game, and the multicart on the bottom right?
gyruss, konami exciting soccer, and iirc the mario party multicart contains the FDS port of SMB2J. not sure how accurate the port is, as far as quality goes.
I take it most/all of these were made before the realization of their official cart forms (Castlevania, Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa) and aren't just those ports?
Have these been dumped? Man, I want to buy all of these just to try them out. Maybe I could do that and resell them? ???
Yep, they've all been dumped
Cool! 8) After checking out Metroid, I want to buy these even more.
Being a two-sided Disk game, Kaiser (or whoever) couldn't just port the game straight up. The title screen is just a static screen. So it's both lazy/unlazy. :P I wonder if there's even an ending? ???
Also, the door glitch doesn't appear to work in this. :-\ I wonder how the RNG issue is handled? ???
Edit: Okay, it does work, but some solid tile ceilings in vertical shafts are replaced by rooms! Particularly the first one in Brinstar.
I've always wanted a Falsion cart (and maybe Zanac and Murasame Castle), just because it's a Konami game and I refuse to pick up a FDS or any games for it. Shame about the Cashapp requirement since that excludes a lot of potential people interested in this set.
But if anybody buys the set and for some reason isn't interested in those titles, hook me up. :D
I dislike cash app, but if your willing to meet in person near LA outside a police station, I'd be happy to buy disk-kun golf, nippon, punch out and gradius if you gave a deal for all of them.
Does Cashapp have fees or buyer protection like PayPal? I don't want the hassle of downloading and moving funds to it for just one thing.
Also, where in California are you, Jayray? I'm in the San Diego area. I'd be willing to meet up in person and buy all the fds ports for a deal.

Is it a cart port that predates Nintendo's own one? Can it save?
Based on the quality of these pirate ports, I would guess that the RNG is simply ignored and the same RNG value would always be used, meaning that the game possibly can't be completed depending on what that value is.
The proper way to do it would be to either code your own RNG routine and use that or copy the one found in the FDS BIOS that Metroid is using, but I'm not sure if Kaiser had a dump of the FDS BIOS.
Good point about RNG. We didn't even really know about that until recently.
Quote from: P on November 15, 2022, 03:39:09 pmIs it a cart port that predates Nintendo's own one?
I assume so, otherwise it'd be more cost-effective to just use the NES conversion. Or Kaiser didn't know the existence of the North American release (they could be concurrent).
Quote from: P on November 15, 2022, 03:39:09 pmCan it save?
Pressing START goes straight to the start of Brinstar (but not before briefly playing the title screen music for a split second ???). Dying goes to a menu with two options: 'CONTINUE' or 'OVER' but I'm not sure if this screen is original or taken from the FDS version. No .sav file was generated from playing this in an emulator.

Interesting. What other behavior does the RNG affect other than enemy movement and projectiles? Is there any specific enemy I can check in Kraid's Lair to observe as a test? It'd be cool if Kaiser handled it better than Nintendo, but seeing as vertical ceilings are glitched, I can't imagine they did (unless this is an emulator issue).
So no cartridge-backup and no passwords? :-[ Looks like you have to beat it in one go! ;D
I would just go to Norfair to check the RNG. Those things jumping up and down in the lava (Squeept (https://metroid.fandom.com/wiki/Squeept)) should vary their jumping behaviour if the RNG "dice" keeps rolling correctly like in the original and they should jump at a constant height if the dice are frozen like in the NES version. In the NES version you should be able to reset and get another height since the RNG is rolling the dice only once per reset.
Here is a list of enemies that depends on the RNG (https://tcrf.net/Metroid#Other_Differences) if you want to pick another target.
The jumping height of the Squeept is why I think the game isn't really beatable if the RNG value never makes them jump high since you need that height to get up to certain platforms in Norfair by freezing it. I'm not sure if it's actually required to beat the game though, and I suppose if you are a master bomb-jumper you could get up there with just bombs alone but that isn't very easy. While I have mastered the single-wall-jump in Super Metroid (which allows crazy sequence breaking), I think bomb-jumping seems so random and don't really get how to do it every time.
Prices added and PayPal accepted.
Dose prices! :o Now I see why you wanted to avoid PayPlow. :pacman: :coin:
Take all FDS ports for $1,000.

Yeah, sorry man. :( It's always sad how an open door for one is a closed door for someone else.
On a different note, it'll be nice having Metroid come back to me. I had sold it to JayRay years ago, then later I was made an offer I couldn't refuse on my personal copy (traded it and some others for Mr Splash IIRC), but never could find another copy.
With these acquired, I should only be missing one or two conversion carts, and they're just alternative versions of other games.

Wow. My memory is rubbish.
I sent you a message, but how much would it cost to buy the rest minus Falsion (I know Ghegs wanted that, but if he doesn't I'll take that, too.)?

$800 and I'll throw in these 5 carts. Section Z is the American version thought it was maybe fds port, jackal that loads up once in a blue moon, 2 different versions of 11-1 ball series with fds port smash ping pong on them, and a modern Repro FDS ports of kid Icarus.

Did you buy Doki Doki Panic? If so, which version did you grab?
If it's still available in a month, I'd be interested in grabbing the kaiser Doki Doki Panic.
Oh my God, FDS Jackal! :'(
SOLD! (https://i.imgur.com/9l9Q6fr.png) (Is shipping included?) ;D What do you suppose is wrong with it?
Also, I feel we should wait for Ghegs to reply in case he still wants Falsion. I'll go PM him if need be.

Oh nah, yeah that wasn't me though that was the cart I was referring to. I have no idea what's different between the two Doki carts code wise, that's why I didn't prioritize grabbing it since funds are tight at the moment.
Such consideration! But yeah, no need to ask for my "permission" or anything. It'd be a fun curiosity to have, but I'm not willing to pay that much for a bootleg cart.

Can totally understand the sentiment, but if it's period, $80 is more than fair for it, even Japanese collectors would pay that.
Oh just throwing out a random fun fact, but period Kid Icarus FDS version starting price is easily $150 usd, and that's locally to me. Big money on that title, for the original version.

One person's trash is another's treasure and all that. To me, bootleg carts aren't usually worth the plastics and circuits they're on. But these ones have the advantage of being interesting due to originally being FDS releases, but even then a lot of them are already available on carts, officially, either on NES or Famicom. I already have Castlevania, Bio Miracle Bokuette Upa, Super Mario USA, and Twinbee 2's official Famicom cart releases CIB (Yie Ar Kung Fo too, I don't think that was ever on FDS?), and I'd rather buy the remaining ones' official NES releases over the FDS originals or bootleg versions, if FC cart versions aren't officially available. The differences between FDS and NES versions aren't that important to me.
That leaves the ones that don't have an official cart release on NES or FC, with Falsion and Nazo no Murasamejou being the ones I'd mostly be interested in. Like I said before, they'd be fun curiosities to have, but not something I'm willing to spend a lot of money on. Maybe $40 each, max. Since that's not the current market value, I'll just not have them.
But it's great that Jedi Master Baiter is getting a good deal on these.

I'm not really sure sometimes it loads sometimes it doesn't.
Is it a situation where once it works it plays perfectly fine, or does it have problems mid-playthrough?

It has had these issues since I bought It. plays through fine when it boots. It's just getting it to boot up that's the issue.
All sold! I bought the rest. (https://i.imgur.com/ImqXsUY.png)
Just see this post 😭😭😭😭😭😭

I'm not planning on keeping all of these. So far I'm planning to sell one of the 11-in-1 Ball series, both Bubble Bobbles, both SMB2s, Volleyball, Pro Wrestling, and probably Almana no Kiseki (just played some of this yesterday--it's brutal! :blinky:).

Exquisite! I just played Smash Ping Pong :diskkun: and I have to say, the controls feel like I'm trying to hit a fly with a wet noodle. Accurate depiction of me trying to play this game: https://youtu.be/ip_J7LtINqg
A couple of games don't load up on one of those 11-in-1 Ball multicarts. Did they all work for you, Jayray? Anyway, Falsion is awesome! (https://www.famicomworld.com/forum/Themes/FamicomWorldCurve2/images/post/thumbup.png)
Glad to see these all sold and to a good home :)
I just got around to trying out Kid Icarus, and it seems to have this weird feature where the player can't take damage from ANYTHING.
Kinda wack yo. ???
I remember one of the famous passwords (such as found in magazines) for the NES version made you immortal and on the final stage.
You still took damage but you never died as your life was refilled as soon as it runs out. It's like you had unlimited waters of life, but you only have one when you pause and check, it just never runs out. It only works on the final level though. After you beat Meduasa and start over on the first stage you don't get to keep your water of life and you die if you loose all life.
It's the last one here (https://strategywiki.org/wiki/Kid_Icarus/Passwords):
000eee eeeeee
eeeeee eeeeee
Though I noticed that the famous Swedish "the dove's mother" password does something similar:
DUVANS MAMMOR
KOMMER BORTOT
It gives you 8 waters of life in a barrel but they are still not used up when you loose all life energy.
