Do you think it is crazy to get a nes (or other system) game character tattoo?
Because my gf has a nes kirby tattoo on her back... and i think it is not crazy but other people say it is...
what do you think? Will you get a tattoo of your favorite game character?
What is kirby doing on her back :cherry:
The thing is I love my body too much to deface it. I would probably get bored and then try to burn it off like in that episode of bill and ted
i dont think its exactly crazy. its just showing support for your generation
You think that's crazy?!
And that's only the tip of the iceberg.
I think if you like tattoos, then get whatever the hell you want. I wouldn't get a tattoo, but if it's your thing, do whatever pleases you. A skull, flower, game character...it's all meh to me regardless of what it is.
...ok, maybe not exactly like this one
Spoiler
(http://stupidgamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/atarivb5.jpg)
but I'd love to have the /|\ one... somewhere... some day
You could always brand it. ::)

Tattoos has nothing to do with generation asides common likes and dislikes. The people who get tattoo's however never changes. Of course there are differnt kinds of Tattoos.
That atari one is bad arse crazy. Makes me feel sad if that was a girl. Damn......
Maybe it is just faked out like that to look such and such. Damn....
That is soo fake, no way a person could have atari on their back so much.
The Atari logo is done by cutting the skin away--it's a form of body modification. From what I've read, it's usually abuse victims who are into this kind of stuff. Go figure...
Check out www.bodymod.org or www.bme.com if you're interested in that kind of stuff, but then again you probably already know about those sites if you are.
i might would consider getting an atari logo tattoo'd but not skin peeled or branded or some shit like that
If you don't regret getting it after a few years, I say it's not crazy.
If you wake up one day and say WTF did I think when I got this tattoo, then you know it was a bad and crazy idea.
Tonev, you like Deadmau5, so of course you don't think it's crazy! ;) Deadmau5 has tattoos of a lot of internet culture/video game stuff. The ones I can remember are the Boo (from Mario) tattoo, the Zelda life bar, his "Meowski" tattoo on his neck, the Space Invader tattoo on the other side of his neck, and the "fail" tattoo on his wrist. Anyway, I don't think it's crazy either. If you like something enough, there's no reason against getting one as long as you realize what you're doing.
@nintendodork yes i know deadmau5 but he is not a girl... do you think a girl will tattoo a nes character? I think not... but i know i will be getting a nes tattoo when i have the idea.
coming from a person who is covered from head to toe in tattoos....Nope, not crazy at all. ;D If you or your girl like the tattoos enough and it makes you happy, then thats awesome! Other people can kick rocks, who cares what they think.
Good taste to get a Kirby tattoo I say! Suggest to her to get Bubble and Bobble too, they make a good pair. I saw someone with those, and a 1up mushroom on her back.
I think you should consider Mega Man, Link/Zelda or perhaps Samus for yourself.

Totally agree with you
Manuel.
I feel it exactly the same way as you do.
That's why if I ever decide to make myself a tattoo - it would be Atari related since I was like almost born with 65XE system and I'm attached till this very day :-)

I'd have a million tatoos of Dragon Ball all over my body if that were true. I support Dragon Ball by buying the series (Dragon Boxes Z from FUNi and DB Kai BD's) and video games.
People do this sort of stuff because they like it.
Not crazy but odd.
Awaiting the highly anticipated Dragon Box the Films, Dragon Box Dragon Ball, Dragon Boxes TV Specials and Dragon Box GT. These will be the true definitive sets for the true hardcore Dragon Ball fans, such as I.

He didn't mean it was the
only way. He just said it was a way to do so, not that it was something you had to do in order to show support.
But people think this is stupid to get a tattoo of a game character because it will be on your skin forever and after some time this game will be forgotten.. but i think no it wont be forgotten because people like my gf will remember kirby and all the retro games she likes ;)
I have a Star Wars tattoo, so no I don't think it's crazy. :)
I have tons of invisible tattoos and i dont think its crazy :P
If your not sure about getting one, you could have the tattoo artist put it on you with a herbal ink that dissipates after around 5 years time. If you still like the tattoo by then, then you can have the artist redo it with real ink.
I don't think it's crazy
I personally think its crazy to get any tattoo, but I'd prefer a gal with Kirby or Link or Yar over a one with a grotesque butterfly, a sailor's heart with an arrow or some other bloke's name. :bomb:

Does bashing a wall in with my cranium while drinking whiskey, popping Xanax and speaking in tongues count? :bomb:
Crazy? No.
I will say that if this is your first idea for a tattoo... they can be addictive.
I have thought many, many times about getting an Atari logo, various Atari and NES character tattooed on me before. Still might should time and money allow.
I WILL say to think about it a bit. I have some tats that I kinda wish I didn't get, but they are all concealable... which is somewhat important still, unfortunately.
This guy obviously likes Mario..

now that's awesome!!! RAWR! :P
First tattoo.
I like it lol.
Crazy? No. Tattooing a videogame character or article onto myself it is something I would never consider. Go for it if you feel that's how you want to represent yourself to the world.
It's your body. Do what you want with it, as long as it isn't drugs.

First tattoo.
I like it lol.
Is that a temporary tattoo?
Nope haha. I want to get my kids names and some other stuff on me, but didn't know if I could handle it as I'm phobic of needles and such. I got that tattoo as a test mostly, and a fire flower seemed neat. I am planning on adding more and sort of making a comic strip style sleeve if I can.
I don't think I could ever get a tattoo because they're both expensive and permanent, not to mention painful. But in theory I would like to have one, maybe of
Protoman, Mario or Toon Link or something.
That was what I feared as well. It does hurt, but it's completely manageable. It is nothing like a needle. It feels like they are using a cats claw to scratch something on to you.
I bet you can shoot fireballs with that arm now! :)
Personally I'd probably never get a tatoo. Being permanent, and being on my body are the two main problems I have with them. Also in Japan tatoos are not very practical and are still mostly used by criminals and yakuza. Not being able to go to onsen or certain hotels would be very inconvenient for me. If I'd ever get one it would have to be small enough that it can be easily hidden and on a part of the body not visible when wearing a short sleeved shirt or shorts.
It's not exactly game related, but I have an appointment to get something like this lego man tattood on my right forearm in a couple weeks.

How similar to this design is your idea? I could see myself getting the LEGO shark or ghosts that glow in the dark. I still have no work done, but have many ideas I've given lots of consideration. :upsetroll:
Im going to get that design outlined right now, and do some shading and background and such at a later date.

I asked the artist if i could have a Batman figurine instead. Something like this but without shading.
I'll update on the 8th, when i get it done!!!
OUCHIE!!!!! lol.
Good choice. Everyone knows who Lego Batman is. ;D
I think I want it colored and shaded in the blue and grey style bat suit. Thoughts?
And I just got a spur of the moment 1-up mushroom tattoo above my fire flower. :star:
