Today just now I logged in and it said my account has been disabled. Fuck this. Fuck the whole commercial thing, this is god damned bullshit.
Oh well, your commercials were so good too
Thanks Google... >:(
The worst part? I haven't received a reason yet. I sent them an e-mail and they're taking their slow ass time.
God damn it, this is ridiculous.
It's official, I'm pretty much disabled. All of the videos say that they were removed due to a Terms of Use violation. Funny, the other more popular famicom commercial accounts haven't been removed yet... >:(
Total bullshit.
"Hi there,
Thanks for your email.

This was do to copyright violation from videos that were uploaded 9 to 11
months ago. Federal law requires us to suspend repeated violations.

You know what the funny thing is?
I haven't had an account for that long.
That's some bullshit. Same thing happened when I uploaded videos for my site too.
Well, I guess that means more work for me -- removing the links/images for our former YouTube account. :P
Cant we host these commercials on the site directly? they cant be THAT big...
JL has been concerned about doing that because of their size and the bandwith usage. I'm not technical like that, and I know nothing about the host and it's feasibility, so we'll have to check to see what's possible.
How about google video?
I hope that was a joke.

Try 150 videos up at once...

Two problems:
1. That's still sucking away TONS of bandwith.
2. It's very frustrating for people that don't visit the site weekly...
YouTube = money-grubbing ingrates.
But seriously, that site likes to hurt a lot of people.
Youtube sucks, make your own flv video player and post your videos in your site.

Easy. Search at google some FREE FLV PLAYER source (.fla) most of them contains the graphic files and the FLA (wich is the flash player) and some xml or something like that to make it to work. You must convert your MPEG videos to FLV with some software (they are a lot). And that's all. The main problem exist if you don't know how to customize the flv player and if you don't know how to code in flash, but mostly those free-open source-players come with instructions.
Ehh...sounds like too much work...Although I've always wanted to make one of those, and maybe make it a page similar to how this is set up...http://www.pageoclips.com/files/html/index.htm.
Are there any youtube-ish sites out there?

It's not too much work, and if you want a good site sometimes you must work hard.
But exists a lot of youtube similar sites, like Google video, Zapp, etc.
If it makes you feel any better, taipion, the King of Tool Assisted Playthroughs got shut down too.
I now am getting a little worried. If YouTube is throwing video games in the COPYRIGHT bracket, I'm so done....
Wow.
I personally suggest that you archive your videos RIGHT NOW, Toneman. BE CAREFUL!

YouTube is going too far...
My account consists of nothing but me doing weird shit on NES games... :-\
But if video games aren't allowed, then why have a 'video game' option in the category list?
Probably for stupid "parodies".
Soon youtube will be what it originally was, un-funny homemade videos...blehh.
Would anyone be able to give me good directions on how to make a flash player for the site? Drop me an e-mail.
no it wasnt youtube recommending it he just got a message on his youtube account i think
YouTube probably wouldn't recommend its competition, right?
http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=FWCommercials
don't say anything...shhhhhhhh... :-*
and now that account was hacked & closed... >:( >:( >:(
Not much luck...
Ouch again with the account.....
Dunno about this or not. But I would suggest using www.blip.tv (http://www.blip.tv)
It's sort of like youtube only not as well known. They also seem to be more lax on copyrighted material on the site.
Just throwing it out there.
People need to stand up to youtube and demand they fix the "terms of usage". They can't ban everybody.
They also need to do something about the "Not spam" button that isn't working,
