With EarthBound's VC release on the horizon, I saw it fit to not only get an idea of how many people would buy it, but also to spread EarthBound's cult of happy-happyism (people who have played the game will understand the reference). If Nintendo ever decides to release this (which they simply must, as it was recently rated by the ESRB), I would buy it for myself and for one or two others.

I own all 3 Mother games on the respective original hardware, so I wouldn't buy it on VC.

UglyJoe

I have no real interest in the game.  I'm also somewhat opposed to paying money for roms.

Kuvio

Well, I have all 3 Mother games, but I don't have Earthbound (US Version). Seeing as I don't want to pay upwards to $100 for it on eBay, YES I WILL GET IT!  ;D

Upwards of $100 ?

I think I've seen it go for $38

I own Mother 1 for Famicom, Earthbound (repro) for NES, Mother 2 for Super Famicom and Earthbound for Super Nes. As you can see, I'm a solid Earthbound fan so OF COURSE I'm going to buy it on Virtual Console! ;D I've been saving my 800 wii points for it for some time now! :P

Maybe if I have no room and only my wii in there then yeah to save space....other than that nah

In a second. I still own the original SNES copy, box and strategy guide and everything, and I would still buy it. I LOVE EARTHBOUND.

Yeah, the US English version of EarthBound is very rare, but I've seen MOTHER 2 carts go for $10 on ebay.

FamicomFreak

The prototype yeah but a repro is like 30bucks or something

No, I was referring to EarthBound (MOTHER 2), not Earth Bound (MOTHER). The prototype English Earth Bound (NES) can go for well over $1000 on ebay while the English EarthBound (SNES) will be ~$70. The Japanese versions of both are far, far more common.

Edit: Oh, and yes, you can get an Earth Bound reproduction cart for $25.
