Purchased a DS Lite and now I'll be buying some ol' GBA carts

This DS Lite that I bought came with one of those Game Cards that allows to put how many DS roms you'd want, but I'm gonna give that to my niece (she has a DSi Red).

I've already have:
- Dragon Ball: Advanced Adventure (Japanese Edition CIB)
- Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors (Japanese Edition CIB)

^ I'm a Dragon Ball fan and these games to me are a must, plus the Japanese artwork is gorgeous. I don't speak Japanese but DB games are about the gameplay than story, and I've played them plenty of times to know what they're about.  :P

But now, since the rest will be PAL GBA games I'll just get the cartridges themselves as it'll end up being cheaper and I won't miss not having the box and all of that fancy goodness.

Any suggestions of hidden GBA gems Famicom World members would like to let me know of?

Edit: I used to have a GBA but I sold it and to be honest I never really liked it because the screen was too dark.

Thanks.

P

Astro Boy: Omega Factor is highly recommended! The two Klonoa games are recommended if you are into platform games. Mr Driller is also good but I think there are better versions for new consoles.

These are hardly hidden games but still great games:
Castlevania Aria of Sorrow
Metroid Fusion
Metroid Zero Mission
Wario Ware
Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town
Both Advance Wars games
All three Fire Emblem games
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
Tactics Ogre: Knights of Lodis
Rockman.EXE series
Rockman Zero series
Slime Mori Mori Dragon Quest
Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland

There are tons more but these are the ones I could think about for now.

Besides if you already read the original manga or watched the anime you probably know the story anyway. ;D

Whoa thank you so much, P! Those games I don't think I've seen so I'll look 'em up on Amazon.

My favourite gaming genre is platformers so that's one of the reasons why I usually play on Nintendo consoles because the others don't really offer much of it like Nintendo systems do.

When buying GBA games, you need to be very sure not to buy bootleg games. Never buy a game that says it is being shipped from ANYWHERE other than the US (or Japan for Japanese games). Don't just go and buy the cheapest games from Amazon or eBay, do some research on what they should look like and if at all possible buy from eBay sellers who post their own pictures rather than using stock photos.

GBA bootlegs are of much lower quality than genuine games. Many use an older form of battery backup for their saves rather than flash, so saves can be lost in as little as a month depending on the quality of the battery used. Bootleg games are also sometimes made without certain parts, such as internal clock chips, meaning some functions wont work in games (this is very true for the Pokemon series Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald).
Here are a few games I am looking for right now
Super Puzzle Fighter II X (Sega Saturn)
GeGeGe no Kotarou (Sega Saturn)
Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu (Sega Saturn)
KiKi KaiKai (PC Engine) (CIB)
Puzzle Bobble (Super Famicom) (CIB)

It's unlikely to work in a dsi unless it's running a very old revision of the dsi software and the cart itself has the most recent flashcart software.
The pokemon games were the only real games for the GBA I ever really liked and I only own leafgreen :(

This is not true. I have a flashcard (Acekard 2i) that I bought in 2009 that still works with my DSi to this day (running firmware 1.4.5). As long as you by genuine hardware and not a cheap Chinese knockoff flashcard you should not have a problem with the DSi, because Nintendo is now putting all its focus on the 3DS and stopping piracy on that system.

If it's an R4 god help you! I have a DSTWO which I think is made by the same people that make the acekards though I could be wrong, IT IS FANTASTIC!I just got given a r4I 3ds cart that doesn't work in my dsi's -_- even with the freshest software.

It's a DS-TT Card which only works on the Original DS and DS Lite, but oh well, no biggie.

Already been playing Dragon Ball Advanced Adventure (Japanese GBA cartridge) with the original music and I loved it, especially since it's my favourite DB game and it features the original music of the series (in 8bit style).
